  • Hi Alex, firstly let me appoligise for hijacking your thread with a personal issue with another forum member.

Reg your situation have you been in touch with the samaritans in your area, i might be wrong but they are able to put you in touch with a whole host of charities i had never heard off, also iv read in our local paper (a while ago now) someone who was also have heating difficulties, no money, youg kids etc and im sure they got it mended by a generous company - now im not sure if this was done for free or they made some sort of credit agreement but its gotta be worth a try - get in touch with your local paper, see if they would run a story on it.

cant believe youv been turned down for a crisis loan, is this because you work??
  • A double post about the issue, and the op can not even be bothered thanking people for their input or give an update. Am I the only one that gets the impression the op was only looking for someone to say: "Oh you poor single mum, let me do it for free for you"?

Perhaps the op has his/her hands full caring for two infants and trying to get the issue sorted.
Give them time to get it sorted and get back to us all.:)

This type of response is typical of some of the mindless elements that post on these forums they are probably 14 years old and have no experience of real life and get there kicks from trying to belittle other posters in a effort to make themselves look clever .

If you cannot add anything constructive to help the original poster post on another forum and get your kicks elsewhere

    Hi,

It would help to know whether yr a single parent, age, gender etc, so that itd be easier to give you some info on charities that could help you - which then you can take back to the CAB and get them to do a referral for you.

Also have you tried a credit union - they are a peoples type bank (not any kind of insurance etc company) specifically set up to help anyone who has limited means, lend them money and are only allowed to charge 2% interest.

Some credit unions have instant loans - it all depends on yr local credit union - where as others you have to put in whatever you can afford, an amount of money per wk/mth, for 3 to 6 months, and then you can borrow 3 times the amount you put in.

    Hope that helps!

Seaspray i think the OP is a couple as they mention the word "we" in their original post.As far as i know they have already been to the CAB and they said they can do nothing for them.
