O2 Spam Texts and Emails

Just wondered if anyone else who was with O2 is receiving a ridiculous volume of marketing texts and emails from them, usually about upcoming events and concerts with which O2 are affiliated? I usually get at least one text a day and maybe two emails.

I've emailed O2 asking them to remove me from their mailing list: the first four times I asked they declined to do so on the grounds that I didn't provide an account password. Sigh. Anyway after being given this information, O2 assured me that my email and phone number had been removed from their O2 marketing lists, but that it would take up to 28 days to stop receiving texts. Two months later I am still getting both texts and emails, in fact I am getting them more often than before.

I've emailed O2 again but can't get any joy. I've called them but spent more than an hour on hold today without getting to speak to someone.

I've been with them for years so I don't want to jump ship (I am also locked into my contract until June next year) but the spam is really driving me mad and I am looking forward to ditching them for another, less annoying, network as soon as I can.

Has anyone else had this experience? And yes, I might be letting the texts and emails get to me more than I should but it just irks me.

I used to get them but no where near as often as you, I just dialled 202 and asked the agent for them to stop, seems to have done the rick

I too having been getting loads, they've gone crazy with them over the last month or so, it's even more of a pain as my signal in our new house is rubbish, so sometimes they all come through at stupid times in the night. Will try the above options!
