    Original Terios is a small car, high up. Far higher than a Focus. Starlet 1.3 engine in it, not fast but economical for a 4x4 and reliable. Focus will have more legroom I reckon.
    Newer Terios is a bit of a copy of the RAV4 (Toyota own a big stake in Daihatsu and lots of parts are shared) but that's a good thing in my book. Still 4x4 height rather than hatchback height though. Surprised there's no Octavia 4x4 auto.
    Since you're considering the Terios I'll throw another quite tall car in - Honda HRV.
