Thanks again everyone, scheming_gypsy I have spoken to the garage listed in the Ebay advert. and they don't use Ebay so think the add is a scam! They also confirm that Citroen never made a C3 4x4 auto. Really like the look of the Daihatsu though, many thanks for persevering.
As for the others, Suzuki SX4 does not come in 4WD auto. The Forester, they looked but a bit too big, I was going to look at Rav4 and CRV this weekend.0 -
Since you seem ok with getting info from manufacturers, might be worth giving Nissan a call and asking if the e-4WD option was ever available on the UK spec Cube?
I'm not 100% certain that it was a Japan-only option.0 -
Isn't there a 4x4 Skoda Octavia that would fit the bill (it's on a Golf platform so I call it Focus sized).0
-
Thanks but the 4x4 Octavia, like the Golf does not come as an auto! Unless you know different.
Lum, I rang Nissan a few days ago and they didn't even know that a 4x4 Auto cube was available in Japan, their in house search tool didn't bring any up in UK.0 -
Nissan UK being useless, why am I not surprised. *sigh*
If you do decide to bring a 4x4 Cube over, give me a poke, it's not actually that hard to do but takes about 3 months. There's a company in Bristol that I used that will do all the hard work for you including arranging a vehicle inspection over in Japan for you. All you have to do is pay a bunch of invoices and then take a form to the DVLA.0 -
Thanks Lum, will wait and see what they think of the Daihatsu, I sent the link earlier today. I ill PM you soon if we decide to go down that route.0
-
If that Daihatsu is suitably small, it does look like a really good options to be fair. I just hope the seat height isn't too high for him.
However, I saw one of them on the road the other day, and they looked quite big to me. I'd suggest looking at one in real life just to be certain.0 -
i did a search on their size and they're smaller than a focus apparently. Although the later ones are bigger0
-
Thanks again both of you for all your input.0

1st gen is up to 2005, 2nd gen is the one I saw and thought looked rather big.
I've just looked it up on Wikipedia and apparently they come in short and long wheelbase versions, the LWB being a 7 seter, so I guess the SWB is the one you want and the LWB is the one I saw!
Apparently the 2nd gen SWB version is 4055mm long, compared to 4358mm for a Focus hatchback. It is also 1685mm wide which is, again, narrower than a Focus
Sounds perfect for your dad. Good luck!0
