Made an OP to mortgage yesterday - it was for August, but decided I might aswell make it in July instead.

The balance is coming down but it just seems so slow and seems to take forever....... I'm having one of those times where it's feeling a little bit frustrating.

DH is enjoying spending money more than ever and (I suppose I've not exactly been perfect either) - but it sometimes feels like I'm making this journey very much on my own.

I'm debating selling a few bits and pieces that should never have been bought and then OP'ing with the funds. But, when the balance is still so large, it just kind of seems a bit pointless really.

Looks like another stunning day. DS2 has gone to nursery and DS1 is currently lounging in my bad watching TV - taking it easy before the fun and games with his friends in the street commences later.....

DS1 and I went for a little bike ride last night. No idea what came over me but I just suddenly felt the urge to have a little bit of exercise. I've been feeling so lazy recently and really need to do something about it sooner than later. I plan on going again later this evening, a little bit earlier this time so that we can go a bit further. We really enjoyed it and its the first time that he didnt complain about riding his bike too far.

Working from home today. Need to get focused and get something achieved.

I feel like that a lot - we have just got to keep going as for every baby step we take now will make it worth it in the end and of course we have each other to keep us going :D
    MFIT-T3 - 31 = (2012 £3050) 2013 op = £3009
    Savings £410

Thanks Beth, I know you're right, most of the time I'm up beat about it and other times I just think, "ah heck, whats the point..."

    Thanks for popping by x

Had a little bit of inspiration from a fellow MSE'er..... I'd recently took delivery of some very nice items which I didn't need - so they have since been packaged and returned.

I'd placed an order for a pair of jeans - lovely, but not needed, so have cancelled the order.

Have sold a Juicy Couture charm that i bought on Saturday because it was a bargain price and very pretty - however, not needed.

And, am in the process of selling one of my purses/wallets....... I love it but long story short, I have 2 and seriously, a lady only needs one, so this one is going. I'd rather have sold the other one, but since I have a buyer willing to pay a fair price for this one, then it makes sense to let this one go.

I've done the meal list for the following week and the shopping list that goes with it is fairly small, so this weeks food shop might actually be a reasonable price for once. The list is so small that I don't actually need to go and buy any of it until Sunday. Hurrah.

Out for dinner tonight with friends - so will have babysitting to pay for and a meal... however, we don't do this very often so it will be a nice treat.

Dh still not on board with the whole money saving thing, just keeps listing off all of the things that he wants to buy....

Been to a lovely neighbours birthday bash today. Rather than buying a naff present I baked some rather yummy cupcakes and took them instead.... Seemed to go down well.

I always find it very difficult to know what to buy for men. Women are so much easier.....

I agree re 'naff presents'. Don't get me wrong, it is lovely of anyone to bother to buy a present :) But most of us have too much 'stuff' these days, and what on earth are you supposed to do with some of the presents you are given  Much better to give something that can be used up (so cupcakes are a great idea :D) rather than some item that is not necessarily to your taste, that will clutter up your house and waste both the giver's money and raw materials and resources better used elsewhere.

I couldn't agree more Dawn..... in fact, I've taken to recycling naff presents or presents that just aren't really something that I'd like. Not in an ungrateful way.... I have a present drawer in my office and I just pop everything in there and that way I usually have emergency presents as and when the need arises. If they're not suitable for anyone I know, then I use them for tombola contributions at the school fair and things like that.

It seems that we have so much wastage nowadays.

I managed to do the food shopping yesterday for just £50. This is a first for me, but is mainly due to DH's overspending in previous weeks and having a fair few things left over.

Went in to London for a meeting today...... and I even made it a NSD!!!!!

I enjoyed 2 ice lollies and a bottle of water courtesy of the people at the train station handing them out for free.

I had a lunch on work....

    Avoided all shops.

Dinner was from the fridge and freezer - Hurrah!

A lovely weekend.... despite all of the rain! Some slight overspending here and there as I had my mum here for a few days... I don't see her often as she lives in Canada, so we made the most of our time and enjoyed some treats.

Food shopping came in under budget again and we've got plenty to last the week, so hopefully not too many little trips to the local Mr S for top ups.

Ordered various things with my clubcard vouchers - we will take the children in to London at some point in the next few weeks - I have tickets for the London eye and will take them on a boat trip down the Thames - all at no cost which is fab. Shame we need to pay for the train tickets!

Still debating a few days at a Haven park in Dorset at some point in the next few weeks, but if the weather stays like it has been then I don't think that we will be bothering as we had far too much rain on the trip that we took to Cornwall in the June half term - I don't really want to repeat the damp experience.... would rather save the money towards a holiday abroad next year...

Mum flew back to Canada this morning, so feeling a bit sad as I wont be seeing her again for ages. :(
