Morning All & Diary!
Been meaning to pop in for ages, but had so much going on that I really didn't know where to start.....
In a nutshell, we completed on our first ever Buy to Let back in Feb, and so far so good.
We currently have our own house on the market, however it's been on for a few months and no buyers yet, so we're probably going to leave it on for another month or two and then take it off - at which point we'll do some bits and pieces and content ourselves again for a few more years. In the meantime, we'll save hard in prep for the next attempt..... if still no takers, then perhaps we'll rent this one out in order to buy another... but need muchos money saved in order to go down that route!
In other news, our eldest son was ill and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last month, big changes for all of us, but he's dealing with all very well and we're really proud of him
After watching a programme with Warwick Davies, we've challenged DH to plan surprise family weekends away for us all over Spring/Summer - lets see if he can rise to the challenge. I now have my own bike and since DH is bike mad, I'm fairly certain that any "surprise" weekends will involve the bikes!
I need to update my signature etc.. so will aim to do that ASAP!0 -

Glad you're back and DS is being a star :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

It was a total shock Cath.... the day we found out started with us actually thinking he was pulling a sickie as we DH and I were due to go away the next day without the children for my 40th birthday...... The day ended in A&E.
It's been an emotional roller coaster but it's gradually becoming a part of every day life for us all....
Makes you appreciate what's important0 -
Lovely weekend here, although the weather was slightly suspect.
DH did an Iron run on Saturday and we all went along to offer our support. The boys had a great time running around and at one point thought it would be a good idea to herd the farmers sheep for him (with some help from lots of other children). The farmer however, wasn't best impressed!
DH won his entry via Facebook - so money spent and we took a packed lunch!
Sunday - Ikea - awful. Got there earlyish thankfully so left as it was getting stupidly busy. We've just tidies and rearranged DS2's room, so needed a shelving unit. Also picked up some crockery - we've had the same stuff for years - all mis matching and most of it chipped - we now have lots of plain white stuff which matches and doesn't have chips - happy days!
Monday - started the day with shoe shopping (what a way to spend a bank holiday) - mission complete for DS1 and then discovered that DS2's feet have grown - so now need to go shopping for him. It will need to wait a week or so whilst I muster the energy. Spent yesterday afternoon sitting outside at the pub with friends whilst the children ran around for 3 hours. Not totally money saving, but a nice afternoon.
House is still on the market - really need to call the agent to take it off (especially as we've embarked on an overhaul of the downstairs).... Long term we still want to move, but it's clearly not meant to be at the moment otherwise our house would have sold. So, we'll take it as a sign and stick with where we are at the moment. De ja vu me thinks!
I think our mortgage o/s is actually back to where we were when we started this mortgage free journey. How did that happen???!!!!!
Off to work it out.....0
