The balance will soon come down when tenants are paying your mortgage for you :D

It's my own mortgage that gives me the heart failure... I haven't even gotten my head around the o/s B2L mortgages yet!!

Here we go round the Mulberry bush on a cold and frosty morning.........

    Freezing out there!

Hoping tomorrow morning won't be so frosty as I need to leave the house at 5am to head to the airport, I could really do without having to scrape the car before I set up.

Fingers crossed that the car is back from the garage this afternoon... it's having it's bum heater fixed on the driver seat (warranty job - phew) so on the bright side, I shall have a warm derrriere for the drive (assuming it's back!).

Flying to Munich for a meeting and then the trip will involve Christmas markets and Salzburg mountains, Must confess, it's a Worky trip that I'm particularly looking forward to.

B2L' s - I have a pile... and I mean, quite literally a pile of paperwork sitting behind me in my little office. Most of it arrived on Friday - it contains, searches, val reports, sellers lists/forms for two houses. I shouldn't confess, but I haven't built up the willower to go through it yet. I must get motivated and try and get through it today as I'm not back until late Friday night and I don't suppose I should leave it sitting there for that long.

With Christmas and the B2L's going on, I'm feeling skint and I don't like it. The buffer zone of having the OP's sitting against the mortgage is much missed and the empty savings accounts is making me quiver. I need to focus and be good to try and build up some savings again so that I can get back in to my comfy zone.

Best go and pack for tomorrow (I mean, make a start on the paperwork...)

    Lula x

This is a good habit I am trying to keep up with too. Definitely makes me spend less too!

Dear Diary, please forgive me for I have sinned.........

New mattress arrives tomorrow morning. I'm fed up of waking up with an achey back..... Sleeping away last week for 2 nights was great - no achey morning back. We've had our current one for 12 years, so it's about time.

B2L's don't seem to be making much progress - piles of paperwork, all checked, just need to sign them. However, we keep getting incomplete information from both sellers so back and forth with queries at the moment. It's driving me nuts to be truthful.

Our neighbour has confirmed that he definitely wants to sell in the New Year, so we need to make some decisions. As any readers of my diary will know, decisions are not my forte....

Finished the Christmas shopping yesterday. Most of it was done months ago online, but we went to the shops yesterday to get the last bits and pieces - mainly stocking fillers for the boys really..... sometimes, you need an actual shop, rather than the internet, to get some ideas.

Need to find some time to get the last few bits wrapped up....

I'm quite proud of the fact that I avoided the Boots 3 for 2 promotion for getting people presents that they don't really want or need this year. Took a bit more thought and consideration, but we got there! (Actually, I got the boys their lego and play mobil calendars on 3 for 2 and got a free play mobil toy for DS2, but I'm not counting that.......)

Now that the shopping is finished my thoughts are turning to how I can save money next year! Is there anyone I can knock off the list? How do you go about agreeing with people that we shouldn't do presents the next year? I don't want to sound like a scrooge but it's just getting out of control......

Roll on payday, funds are low and I'm in need of some shuffling... x

I don't agree Lula. I think you're excellent at making decisions. You do it all the time :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Just say it. ' would you mind terribly if we didn't do presents next year? It's just that we have so much...' They always say yes.
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

We said something similar to this.

I've tried it with my sister a few times - suggesting we just buy for the children, but she won't hear of it!

I'll try again in the New Year :)
  • Get them really dodgy gifts. That will do the trick x
