DH bought a slow cooker the other week - we keep hearing about how wonderful these things are, so we figured we should give it a go - when we saw one for half price whilst doing the Mr T shop, we decided now was as good a time as ever....
So - we have a Minestrone soup bubbling away and I must say that the smell around the house is really lovely.
If anyone has any recipes that they'd like to share with us I'd be really grateful, x0 -

I made THIS last year (minus the pig's trotter ) , cooked it for about 6 hours on low I think and used 1/2 the liquid. It was scrummy :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Lurking here and enjoying your diary. I recently started using a slow cooker. I put in chicken, stock cube, water, chopped veg like carrots, onions and celery but any you have/fancy, garlic or mixed herbs depending on feel like and then leave for hours and add a little flour when I get home to thicken the sauce. Delicious every time! Meat, veg and herbs are all interchangeable.

A relative bought us a cookbook called, imaginatively, 'The Slow Cooker Cookbook'. Used from £2.73+postage on Amazon, well thumbed in our house0

Thanks for the tip Miss Optimistic, I shall have a wee look in a mo....
Fab weekend..... Coffee with a lovely friend yesterday that might lead to a pricey purchase.... Fireworks last night, we took outside of the park, avoided the £20 entrance fee, had a perfect view and were able to make a sharp exit at the end. Perfect firework pirating!
Rememberance parade and service this afternoon... Ds1 is in the scouts, lovely to be involved.
Had to buy a few bits from mr s for dinner, went wild and nought some nice juices since the innocent fruit juices we're bogoff.
Must get the boys to finish their homework for tomorrow. Why does it feel like our homework?0 -
Soooooo, since my last post, there's been a few changes.......
I met a so-called fellow "money saver" for a non money saving coffee at St*rbucks and have since spent circa £230k.
Hmmmm, where to begin?
Well, I'm pleased to report that I have neither bought shares in mulberry nor have I bought a future proof selection of designer leather goods.
We have i fact had offers accepted on two properties for B2L, which you, if there are any readers still out there, will know has been on the agenda for a while whilst I've dithered around.
It's fair to say that Property 1 is looking more promising than the other. Property 2 is not looking so sorted and I have a feeling that it could go t1ts up at any minute.
So, the o/s mortgage has increased - we've taken back OP's equating to a 30% deposit for each property with plans to fund the purchase costs from others saves etc.
I suppose I should update my signature, but it really pains me to do so (sobs to self).
I do have a grand plan in regards to the B2L and possible move etc, but I'm going to wait for the dust to settle on these two before laying it all down on here. Two could soon be one anyway - we had an offer accepted a week ago and the Vendors still haven't provided solicitor details... given that they are landlords, you'd expect them to be more organised? Leads me to think (along with some comments that the stupid Estate Agents said) that they may not end up selling.
Still, Property 1 is looking good and that's the one I'm most keen on anyway - as recommended by our very own moneysaver!
In other news.......
Christmas shopping is pretty much done - the Christmas saves account is totally depleted and I've begged borrowed and stop from other accounts too.
The cat did some gymnastic moves and did her hip in. Q trip to vets for him to wiggle her legs to confirm she'd hurt her hip - £50. Plus, a trip the next day for some medicine and a further wiggle - £37. Paid using the self fund Cat Gymnastics gone wrong account.
Trip to London last Saturday with a girl friend. Very bad I'm afraid - coffee at St Pancras upon arrival, lobster (lol) and champers (I know, how ridiculous) at a fancy store for lunch followed by a trip to the Ch3nel make up counter - don't even go there. (on the bright side my lips and cheeks are looking very nice).
The boys need new underwear but I've spent the money on lobster and chanel. Hey ho, I don't think that i will be going to money saving heaven, or any other sort of heaven for that matter.
I'm now on the road to redemption, again............ !!
