Hi LB, your place sounds lovely and in my head, as reading, I had carols singing so thank you for the relaxation.
I am holding my christmas cheer in until we fly off over the weekend, then its no holds barred - can't wait.
Best wishes Tilly2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

Your house does sound festive, can't believe Christmas is next weekend! re: shoes, I get dd's off ebay. There are some brilliant Cl***es shoes on there. I also love my slow cooker, makes mealtimes so much easier.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Hmmm, thanks Cath I may well have to check out ebay for shoes too.....
DS1's best friend is a year older than him and we are close friends with his parents so recently we've been receiving the clothes that no longer fit him which is wonderful. Every little helps!
Yes Tilly, smelling very festive. DH has been playing Michael's Buble's Christmas album which is helping us get in to the swing of things!0 -
Super happy that the kids Christmas holidays are starting, looking forward to lazy mornings wearing PJ's and not having to run around getting everyone to leave the house, hurrah!!0

The money just seems to be disappearing over the last week and I don't think it is going to get any better for the next few weeks. I guess it's that time of year but just keep remembering bits and pieces that I need to buy......
Will go with the flo and get in to the money saving again in January!0 -
Oohhhhh we all love Michael Buble and have his CD wrapped for DD stocking xxxxx
Gave a good one

Amazing, managed a no spending day today - hurrah!
The money just seems to have been disappearing recently, so very happy with a NSD!
Have done my Christmas food shopping list, just need to pop out at some point this week to get it. Not looking forward to this one bit as m sure the supermarket will be full of people shopping as though they are expecting a nuclear holocaust imminently. I never understood why people need so much bread when the shops will only be closed for 1 or 2 days.........0 -
I'm kind of holding my head in shame a little bit as I write....
The good news is that DH brought home a few hundred extra pounds than expected.
The bad news is that I just blew it on a new pair of super expensive Ugg boots and a jumper.
Justification to self.......... not bought myself anything for ages. I o/p considerably last month on the mortgage and have been fairly frugal. DH and myself aren't buying each other presents this Christmas. The kids are clothed, fed and happy. Ok, self justification finished, but at a cost of £300 I can't be doing this sort of self indulgence very often.
Looking forward to getting paid tomorrow as I'm actually quite looking forward to doing the money shuffle (moving money to the various savings pots I've set up) and setting up my mortgage o/p for the beginning of January.
Still need to do the Christmas food shop, either this afternoon or tomorrow, hmmmm, decisions decisions.0 -
As long as you really love and appreciate the goodies, no harm done. We are all worth the occasional treat,
SquirrelPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Thanks SSS - a treat is lovely and I'm sure I will love them when they arrive. HOWEVER, any slight hint of me being unsure will result in them being returned.....
Ahhhh just got my payslip and the good news is that I got slightly more than I expected, so yesterday's indulgences have been covered without needing to delve in to any of the money that was earmarked for the mortgage OP. Just waiting for it to appear in my bank account and I can start my money shuffling......
Checking out the new balance in January will be something to look forward to in January....... 5 years is seeming like a long time, but I know it will be worth it in the long run.
Although, I was looking on rightmove the other day and dreaming about my "forever' house.... Question is, do I really need to have a forever house. My house is perfectly adequate but just not everything I ever wanted. Not sure whether that makes me greedy or just someone who strives for a bit more. Maybe they are both the same thing..... Still, first things first, need to get rid of as much of the mortgage on this house before I can even think about a "forever" house. One thing for sure is that I don't want to have a huge noose of a mortgage around my neck just to get my forever house...... It will mean lots of saving for many years and then maybe something I can consider..... Oh and I still have my B2L ideas hanging around in the background too for somewhere down the line......0
