Poor you, these cold germs are really evil this winter. Take care and try to pamper yourself.
SquirrelPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Clothing the children mission has been completed.... Did the whole lot in H&M and was less painful (both financially and emotionally) than what I had mentally prepared myself for.
I cooked roast beef yesterday and there was various bits leftover, so I fried some up for my lunch, it was lovely..... Bits of cauliflower cheese, roast, pots, mushy peas (I kid you not) - lovely!
Dinner tonight is homemade salmon fish cakes. DH just prepped a big batch - enough for dinner and plenty for the freezer for the boys.
Still freezing cold and it even snowed a little bit again earlier.
Thanks for the well wishes SSS - I'm fine my lovely, just having a whinge about the relentless cold weather.0 -
Ooh, your lunch sounds lovely Lula, I love the after Sunday lunch fry up if I can get one though sadly that doesn't often happen
I really wished I liked more seafood, I do keep trying but it's just not for me
Well done on the shopping expedition and I think you have just the right approach to your little boys clothes, I can't bear to see children looking to 'dressed as a grown up' and I don't know about you but some of the clothes I see in shops make me wince (for some reason the girls clothes seem to be worse than boys).
I think today is the first day for at least two weeks where I've not seem some kind of snow coming down so fingers crossed it's coming to an end. I must start and think about getting a holiday booked, I feel like I'm craving some sun and heat
Regards

I know what you mean abouttimetoo - I'll just go ahead and say what I think you are referring to - some of the clothes for little girls look like stripper/hooker outfits. It's really dreadful. Why someone would want to dress their small girls in this way, I've really no idea at all!
For the boys we mainly bought just TShirts, couple of long sleeve TShirts, Sweater, hoodie and a shirt each for smart. DS2 got a couple of pairs of shorts for our holiday and will prob need a couple more pairs and DS1 got a couple of pairs of coloured chinos. He looks a little bit like a skater dude... we let him choose his own stuff - so the colour combinations are "interesting" to say the very least.
Glorious sunshine here currently, but still ridiculously cold.
Really need to cut the grass but it's still quite waterlogged as it's just not dried out at all..... at least, this is what DH keeps telling me?
Mortgage payment has gone out, so will update my signature once it's updated with my online banking.
Not sure if anyone reading this is with Nationwide and will be looking for a new home for their ISA, but Nationwide will be launching a new ISA sometime in the next week. They did this last year and it was only available for a week or so as the rate was so good it was highly demanded. It will be for flex account customers only from what I understand.....0 -
Hi Lula, don't start me on underwear for girls. I remember shopping for underwear when DD was about 9 and the stuff you could buy was RIDICULOUS. Mr T and I chatted about it at the time and it has only got worse. I find it completely mad that people would pay money to put their girls into underwear which is so inappropriate.
Apologies for hijacking, I just feel very passionate about this.

Wow, I've been AWOL for 2 weeks......
Been busy with work, school holidays, birthdays, weekend away to sisters, day trips etc.
Spending to match so rather depressed at how much has been spent.
On the bright side, we have most of our summer/holiday clothes/shoes and the kitchen is looking amazing with its new chairs, light fittings and other stuff!
Oh and we've prob all put on a few pounds from all of the meals out we've had. Just waiting for DH to come home with the Thai takeaway now and I shall enjoy a large bottle of black cherry cider to go with it.
Payday in 6 sleeps and I'll be back on the wagon.0
