Seriously 14,15 onwards on their own - its cute at 11 I suppose but I would think thats early to call it a 'date'1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

I think I had my first 'boyfriend' in Yr 7, but it only lasted a week before he dumped me for someone else! But we never went on a 'date', only held hands at school and kissed about five times I think...
I think my first 'proper' boyfriend was when I was about 17 (and nothing really happened between 11 and 17, I was a very shy, 'ugly duckling' kid who just blended into the background, everyone else in my year group were much more adventurous than me)... Although that only lasted three weeks, but then the next one was about 18 months...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
I think its more 13/14 years old rather than 11 tbh - I'm only 22 and my first boyfriend was when I was 13 and that actually lasted a while ... i had 'boyfriends' before him but never anything that lasted more than a week! and definately no proper 'dates'.:kisses2: I Love my Soldier :kisses2:0

I tried to fend her off for fear of being gay for kissing a girl! Being 6/7 was a confusing age!
That made me laugh out loud!

Same here.
I think real dates started to happen around 13/14, but even then it was still just the cinema and maybe a snog. The more serious stuff started to happen from 15+.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
my DS (nearly 13) has been "going out" with his girlfriend for just over a year now, they go on real dates, movies etc he even saved up and took her out for a meal only frankie and bennys but hey, i and her mother are just glorified taxi drivers lol,
they are very good for each other both us mums agree, he makes her take her studies more seriously, whereas she, is a doll and i love her because she took him by the hand to his bedroom, i get a bit paranoid and "go to the toilet" when i hear, righto ive brought you up here to clean up this mess, its disgusting and we are not watching movies in this...all he could say and i quote "yes dear" :rotfl::rotfl:If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

I must have lived under a rock next to you as I didn't have my first boyfriend until I was 17!!! I do remember a few girls at school getting pregant when they were 13 though.
I have a 13 year old DS who has no interest in girls yet (thank god) and a 9 year old DD. I will definately not be encouraging any dating in year 7, 8 or 9 and would rather both of them left it until 16 years +. Too many hormones, too many tears at this age I would expect.0 -
I didn't go out on a proper date until I was 19! That was to a couple of nice bars with my now-boyfriend (I'm 24).
But then I was a very late developer in that field - I was quite a nerdy shy teenager so never really had a proper boyfriend until I was about 17 (there were plenty of boys I fancied but every single one I asked out said no), and then we didn't do much other than drive out to the nearby hills, sit in his car, listen to music and talk. I know realise that was really stupid and dangerous but didn't know any better at the time...
That said though most of the other kids in my year at school had boyfriends/girlfriends from about Year 6 or 7 onwards, but only in the holding hands/pecks on the cheek and then 'splitting up' a couple of weeks later sense. There were also a few dates at about 13/14, again nothing more glamorous than the cinema and and pizza though!my DS (nearly 13) has been "going out" with his girlfriend for just over a year now, they go on real dates, movies etc he even saved up and took her out for a meal only frankie and bennys but hey, i and her mother are just glorified taxi drivers lol,
