I must admit to feeling a bit on edge if I don't have at least a month's worth of loo roll, teabags, and dishwasher tabs plus a few cans of deodorant and toothpastes, but thats because my preferred brands are expensive when on full price.

I would be freaking out if I got down to one month of these supplies, the thought of having to pay full price or even a poor value offer for a branded product turns my stomach :D

Some of my current non food supplies are approx 2 years toilet roll, 3 years dishwasher tabs, 4 years washing powder/liquid & fabric conditioner, 2 years deodorant, 2 years soap, 6 months bleach.

Most are stored in sealed containers in the garage.

So many great tips on here... and so glad that I'm not the only one that hoards loads of non-perishables in various cupboards around the house. Paying full price for a shampoo/toothpaste/packet of baby wipes - NO WAY! :)

seriously? isn't that taking things to the extreme?

I mean having such a stockpile of toilet roll and soap is just laughable.
do you think they are just going to stop making the stuff or something?

Now I keep a stock of a few things, but not much, maybe 3 months or so,
which to me even seems a bit mad, I keep a well stocked store cupboard and
freezer, but stuff like toilet roll I would never stockpile in such a way, really will
your bottom care that its being wiped with a value loo roll until the next offer
    crops up?

Offers some around on a regular basis so is it really worth buying shed loads until
the next offer comes round which is 10p more expensive?

Some people on this site are just completely mad :p

I've got a years worth of Finish dishwasher tablets in the cupboard, courtesy of finding them at 25p for 28 (?) in the reduced to clear section of the local Co-op. I've done the same with Persil at £1 for 40 washes as well and the cupboard in the utility room is currently full of cleaning materials that cost pencce a bottle. There is a point where if it really is dirt cheap and non-perishable you can save a mint by buying enough for a year.

What it boils down to is buying loads when there are awesome offers on branded products and saving a fortune. Maybe you havent quite figured it out yet if you think the offers that come around on a regular basis are “VALUE”, saving you 10p.

What the heck difference does it make if I had 200 or 2000 toilet rolls in the garage, so long as I got them mega cheap, I have tons of space, they are all going to be used! What? you think the price is gonna come down do you, think were gonna have deflation??

I never have paid full price for:
    . toiletries
    . cleaning products
    . washing products
    . beer
    . wine
. spiritis and liquors such as Bacardi, Baileys, Morgan Spiced, brandy
. Mullerlight yoghurts - have to be less than 35p each. So multipacks on BOGOF/half price or 12 for £3 single pots

In my cupboard in my bedroom, I have 6 cans of anti-antiperspirant which all were being discontinued for silly amounts - the most I paid was 80p for a large can of Dove.

Then in the summer, I went to the larger Sainsburys near my parents and all their French stubby beers were reduced to £1 for 15 bottles - 3.8% strength. Plus the multipacks of Crabbies Ginger Beer for £4.95.

Today at work, we had the 165g Salt and Vinegar Pringles discontinued to 25p a tube. I don't eat Pringles myself, but I am going to a few house parties in the next 6 weeks and told to bring food and drinks - they will do nicely
  • I really need to start doing this on non-perishables, I've only just started with the cupboard. I'm going to put a bit aside each month for the bulk buying, that way I'll know I've got the best offer, even if the world thinks I'm mad.
The friend I'm moving in with informed me today that she wouldn't want to deprive me of doing the washing up with my 10 bottles of fairy.... I didn't see that coming d'oh!

Store what you eat only. I have loads of food in my purpose built storeroom. Saves on fuel by bulk buying and time. I have food storage of pasta , tomato sauce 1pence, birds custard, 2 pence trifles, baked beans, tomato ketchup, I could go on and the way I see it I got it cheap and save money all round. Gives me peace of mind with all the times of austerity taking pace. You never know if you are going to lose jobs etc. I have a years supply of loo rolls, washing up liquid and washing powder again saving on fuel, time and money. I all have 72 hour kits for all the family in case of emergency. You never knw
