It's a real shame HPC website has closed down.
I would have loved Bruce Banner to see todays headline in the Express. :rotfl:

Here is the best part.
With rents at record highs across much of the country, buying a home makes excellent financial sense to those who can secure mortgage finance.
“Long-term investors and homeowners have seen the greatest financial benefits of buying property.”
He added: “Even accounting for the housing market down-turn, the average homeowner has seen their home increase in value by 75 per cent in the past 10 years.
“As long as the UK’s population growth outstrips the supply of new homes, demand for property will mean homeowners will see strong long-term capital appreciation, and investment in bricks and mortar will remain a sound bet.”

Please quick.
Can somebody post it on HPC before the site closes down?
I want Banner busted.:rotfl:We love Sarah O Grady0 -
Banner will be chocking on his eggy soldiers this morning. It's what he deserves after years of lying and deceiving the gullible.0

Bruce Banner will be getting busted every month until he gives in and buys. His stated intention is to buy a house once prices have dropped 30-40%. He and other Sell to Renters are serial chancing speculators hoping to make a quick buck. Every month they bemoan the fact that interest rates do not rise. What they do not seem to realise is that the government be it Tory or Labour do not wish huge swathes of homeowners in negative equity, and so this soft landing of houseprices will be engineered for months if not years to come until eventually prices are within 1st time buyers reach and then we will start to see rises again.0

Hmm, surprise surprise, bullish paper prints article by bullish journo saying now is a great time to be a bull. Cant we just ban all express articles from this forum? We all know Sarah O'Grady has vested interests and never gives a balanced view.0

That article is shameful0

in the last year, my landlord has had to do the following work on the house i'm renting
- new roof, including all soffit boards
- new boiler
- external painting
- internal painting
- repointing rear wall
- new shed
- relaid patio due to frost damage
All sound like long term maintenance jobs which will not require doing for a number of years. Doing them can only at worst improved saleability/rentability and at best will have strongly improved the re-sale value.0 -
Come on Sibley a story about rising property prices in the Express is about as disingenuous as an alcoholic drinks company saying drink sensibly or one of those personal injury claims companies saying 'we hope you'll never need us.'0

Renting is for mugs - we all know that ... those who cannot afford to buy kid themselves that they are saving loads of money, waiting, sitting, hoping, that prices will fall to their level.Bringing Happiness where there is Gloom!0
