Replacement of bathroom suite

Comments

  • I currently have a shower room (not a wet room) but a small bathroom with a shower cubicle. due to the missus expecting we are now aiming to fit a new bathroom suite, nothin flash, just plain white.
The quotes I have had for fitting are like 600-700 which is way to expensive imo. does any know any god companys/plumbers in the north west (gr.manchester area/lancs) who ca give a good reliable quote.....also, any good plain cheap white bathroom suites recommended?

    thanks

Depending on what work is involved and the state of the current set up £600-£700 may be quite reasonable. I'd be very wary of anything less than about £350-£400 for an absolutely straight swap.

i've just been quoted for removal of my burgundy "Austin Powers" style corner bath, shower cubicle, loo and washbasin.
Replacing with white suite - standard straight bath under existing elec shower. No tiling work included.
Quote was £700 for about 2 days work - does that sound reasonable?

This is Northwest as well BTW.

I'm so jealous of these prices. I've been quoted £3,500 by two separate people for labour only to do the following in our bathroom which measures 1.1m x 2.67 m: remove tiles; skim walls and ceiling; remove bath, wc and basin; replace with new (but corner bath) and wc about 5 ft away from original on same wall) provide and fit underfloor heating (electric about 3 sq m if that) and tile floor and full wall by bath and half wall elsewhere. I can't believe these prices! this is in Leeds.

Its a bit OTT, knock £200 off imo, unless you are from daubehill and prices are riseing:D
  • Newbie71, I live in abingdon as well and was wondering who you got your quote from for your bathroom. We went to abingdon bathrooms and kitchens (by the double mini roundabout on marcham road) and they quoted us £5500!!!

    Cheers
