I spent a long time avoiding going to the doctor (and not sleeping) because I was hearing things. When I eventually plucked up the courage to go, it turned out it was tinnitus. After this the symptoms eased on their own, my bipolar had been exacerbating my fears so making it worse.0

i have bi-polar too..
you must go and see your psychiatrist or a new one, and you should sort out what's going on with the CPN..if he/she hasn't offered you something else whilst off, well i think that's a dereliction of duty and very dubious practice...
irregardless of what the problem is with your eyes, you must keep in touch with your support team, unless it has been mutually agreed you have been discharged from them and you have a strong support set-up elsewhere such as friends and family...without wanting to sound patronizing, you are quite young still, and it is not good to go it alone unless your diagnosis is really quite mild...if you are on medication i suggest it isn't...
you can then discuss your eye problem with them (and you suspect it is connected to this), and you can also see the optician to rule that in or out too...
take it from one who knows....going it alone is not a good option unless you are completely in control of things...i am wondering what happened about the CPN who just disappeared...did they not offer you something else?
