We got ours in a Tesco photo booth (Greenock), back in January. The 'new' size was required back then so not sure how 'new' it is now.
Think they were £7. Max Speilman didn't want to do them for us, they said their 'white' background would come out 'cream' so it could cause us problems.0 -

Spec are as follows,
'The background should be a plain light colored background'0 -
Photo studios like snappy snaps are far too expensive...especially when you have more than one set of photos to do, and I've found the photo booths to be unreliable when it comes to non standard sized photos like indian visa photos. I did mine online using www. passportandvisapics . co . uk ... took a photo at home and uploaded it, received it in the post within 2 days.0

Hi,
If you're looking for a good passport photo printing FREE software, i'd suggest IDPhotoStudio0 -
Using http://www.epassportphoto.com/ is also free,
Just download the finished JPEG and skip down to Boots or Jessop's or wherever.0 -
Having just gone through the whole process two weeks ago I can certainly tell you that the normal booths do not produce 2 x 2" x 2" photos as required. I am sure you will not be surprised to know that there is a machine in the visa processing centre which does produce the right sized photos for £8. After driving all the way there I did pay it.
Also be aware that certain professions require special permissions to travel. I work for a charity and had to get my colleague to fax a letter on headed paper telling them that I was going on holiday and had permission to travel and a job to come back to. The letter had to have my full name DOB and passport number. It does say something on the website but I missed it.
The forms took me over an hour to complete as they wanted details about our parents, employers name and address, address in India and a reference. I think its all a bit ti for tat as I am sure we make it very difficult for people to come to this country
Also be aware that you need a different permit in addition for the Andaman and Lakshadweep islands as well0 -

I can tell you with certainty that most booths do provide 2 x 2 visa photos and have done for about 18 months. It does of course depend on whose booth you went to, but as said, most do0 -

That would be unfair...was only correcting someone elses certainty or not0 -

I got mine a few weeks ago. My local post office had a booth which does the correct ones. £8.
It was fine.0
