Help - cheapest way to call a mobile in ireland

Quick question please. My husband is working in Dublin for a few weeks, what is the cheapest way for me to call his mobile phone from the UK ? He still has his UK Mobile with him.

If you could point me in the right direction that would be great as I am getting confused !!

It costs you the same to call him as if he were in UK. He pays standard roaming rates for incoming calls unless he buys some roaming bundle from his UK network. Texts are free to receive.

The only cheaper way is to use a local simcard.

Get a simcard from Lebara http://www.lebara.co.uk/ and you can make cheap calls to your hubby.
And your hubby should be able to get a Lebara sim card in Ireland too - to overcome the issue of incoming call charges.

*** Scratch that idea - looks like you can't get Lebara in Ireland but still could make cheap calls from the UK with it (just the roaming to worry about). Or your hubby gets a European call add-on for his mobile to overcome incoming call charges.
  • Does he have an android or iphone? He could then use a three sim card and download skype.

I'm guessing you can use skype on your computer?
