Nationwide rant

I haven't often had cause to complain to Nationwide but when I have done so I have been disappointed with how the complaint was dealt with.
For example. They said that they aimed to deal with enquiries made from online banking message within x days. To my mind 24 hours is too long to answer a simple question or to give an acknowledgement that the question is being processed. After waiting much longer than x days for a response I used the system again to lodge a complaint about a lack of response to my question. They failed to respond within their own target time to the complaint!
Result? I have just opened an account with First Direct (who do respond promptly) and am gradually taking my Flexaccount out of use.0 -
Strange...I was just thinking today of how great NW's dealings with me has been so far:
(very detailed post to buttress my comment)
I applied online for a flex account 1st Oct., got the application to sign on 5th Oct, took my ID to my local branch on 6th Oct, card and PIN received by 11th Oct. DD transfer request done by 12th Oct and all DDs active on my NW a/c by 26th Oct. Free flex travel cover was confirmed once my account was verified as eligible and also got my pre-existing med. conditions covered for no additional premium (all confirmed in writing in 2 working days).
Same with the credit card - applied online 26th Oct., was accepted as per rates quoted; got card and PIN in 6 - 7 working days. Got a courtesy letter today confirming my DD had been set up and a mention (in bold) to continue making manual payments until my statement confirms payment by DD). The first lender who has been plain and upfront about this.
I am struggling to find anything -ve to say about them!0 -

This is quite strange.
My timeline and experience is as yours - to the day!
My balance transfer was easily arranged online.

Glad to have a +ve experience back mine up.
I went for the 0% on purchases and was given a good rate of 9.9% after the promo period. What I find most impressive is the quick turnarounds for applications and very clear and prompt correspondence so one is in picture as things progress...
I am currently one content NW customer.0
