increase Capital One Classic credit limit?

I think you need to be using the card for more or larger purchases. For example pay all your shopping for food etc... If you use 75% or more of your credit limit each month (and pay off in full) I would expect your limit to increase within 6 months. You will get a letter if your credit limit is going to increase. Those subprime cards rarely if ever let you increase the credit limit yourself. It is generally an automated service based on computer review not request. They are usually reviewed on a 3-4 months basis.
I used my card about twice for about £70 maximum each time, paid in full, and got an increase from £200 to £800 after 4 months.
There is no rhyme or reason, no matter how much anyone wants to guess.0 -
Indeed, though one could deduce that for OP using £50 per month is not resulting in a credit increase, therefore it would be reasonable to try and increase the usage for ~3-4 months to see if it results in a credit increase. You did not need to alter your spending as the computer automatically increased you. Changing the spending pattern may cause the computer to generate an increase. Though, as you say it is impossible to be sure.Don't thank me, thank my post :T
