HI
HI
my 18 year old daughter recently received a parking charge, she wrote to TPS providing details of the driver who was a friend of a friend from Spain who visited our home. My daughter was not aware of the parking charge until the first letter arrived.
Since then we have had numerous letters and because Harry is waiting to join the Royal Navy she has replied each time giving them the driver details.
The latest letter states that Debt recovery plus require
copies of insurance documents allowing this person to drive.
A driving licence and copy of proof this person was indeed in the country at the time !
Unless they receive the above they will continue to pursue legal action
I find it incredible that we have furnished details of the driver and yet they continue to pursue this.
Personally I would throw the letters in the bin ,but my daughter is worried this may jeopardise her entry in the Royal Navy and s very worried.
Any advice gratefully received.

They have absolutely no right to ask for these documents. They have no legal powers whatsoever. Basically it is none of their business.
Unfortunately you should have never of contacted them in the first place, however it's best to ignore any further correspondence from them.0 -
And you can reassure your daughter that it will in no way whatsoever jeopardise her entry to the Royal Navy.
You might as well say that owning a cat will jeopardise your entry to Tescos0 -

DR+ are, as ever, stretching credibility to the maximum. They have no right or authority to demand these documents whatsoever. Not that a debt collector has ever been known to overreach himself. Assuming that the parking ticket she received was from a private parking company (as opposed to the police or a council) then your daughter may safely ignore all of DR+ letters. She has done more than would normally be recommended here and from that point of view she owes DR+ nothing.
Remember: NO debt collector has any more powers than you or I to enforce a debt. That's right - none. The only thing they can actually do is to ask for it. of course, they don't want you or your daughter to know that and consistently misrepresent their powers. They have none.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

Unfortunately, you are have fallen for the scam (but 65% or more do!) that you are dealing with a reasonable company, that they have authority to penalise you, your daughter or the driver at the time and also their fake appeals process.
Do not send them anything, they have no legal right to demand anything!
What you and your daughter need to do now is ignore them and stop worrying... it will have no bearing on her application to join the Royal Navy.
Given that she has been communicating with them and maybe she wants to draw a line under this, so they stop harassing her for money, then in your case, one final letter might be in order and it MIGHT stop them writing, but it might not!
Get your daughter to write to them saying that they have all her previous correspondence and that she is not going to give a PRIVATE company, with no authority whatsoever to demand the release of confidential personal information, this information. She is therefore is denying the debt they continue to incorrectly allege she is laibale for and that they should hand the file back to the company that hired them and they should make no further contact with her. Any further or future contact from them will be considered to be harassment and that she will report them to the relevant authorities, including the OFT and Trading Standards.0 -

Pathetic little outfit all the way in Perth. Never ever done court anyway - too far for them to travel for one thing.0 -
