Petrol smell in a car. Help!!
Comments
-
I had this in my Scenic.
When I fille dup completely for a holiday it overflowed.
It was the locking ring on the sender unit had broken, causing the sender unit to be lifted from the tank when I filled up.
I had been smelling petrol when I filled up for weeks.
When I tried to put a new locking ring on I could not because the epoxy tank had warped.
Cost me a new (2nd hand) tank.
So get somone to check your tank fully, it may not be the same as the scenic but could be a similar problem.
If it is the same DO NOT remove the locking ring or sender unit any further, it warps the tank.0 -
