Credit chasers for T-Mobile

Some time ago I had a contract with T-Mobile, the contact came to the end of its time and I went into the local shop and advised them that I was not going to re-new my contract as I was not getting the benefit of it. I asked the assistant if I needed to inform T-Mobile and was informed no he would do it.
Some time later I started to receive letters from T-Mobile advising that I was in arrears and if I didnt pay up they would take legal action. I advised them of the situation and heard nothing else. I heard nothing from some considerable time, about a year I started to receive letters from a credit chasing firm. Its one of those that purchase the debt cheaply and then hunt you for their money. I informed them that I did not have an agreement with them and did not owe them any money. Telling them that if they disagreed that they should supply me with the agreements for the last four years proving I owed this money. They indicated that the agreement was with T-Mobile and not them and that under the telecoms act did not require to show this proof, I retaliated with but they are claiming I owe them money so they are not covered under telecoms act.
I also advised them to contact me only by post as I found their initial automatic phone calls intimidating, I had to warn them again but they did take note and stopped calling.
After considerable time, which during I did not agree to owing them money, I continued to ask for proof that there was an agreement in force for the period in question knowing there wasnt and they failed to supply anything except a further request for the amount (Which from £60 has now risen to £161....)
I am now receiving threatening letters intimating legal action for non payment from another company.......
Any suggestions..
I feel that I have not done anything wrong but its just another example of phone companies trying to milk customers
thanks:j
