So we start again today, more eating, drinking and fun.:)
House is a right mess, we have enough food to feed an army and alcohol well!! The kids except DS2 who's still in bed and OH have taken to dog out, the oldies are chilling and today's guests will be here about 12ish.
Although I did overspend on food and bits I feel really happy today, nothing to do with alcohol honestly).
Over the next few days when we Are back to 'normal' I'm going to redo the budget, get everything upto date and set our new budget for 2017. We have DSs flights to pay for. We also have a family meal next weekend but after that things should quieten down.
We have just renewed the house insurance which I paid in full. OH had been paid 3 weeks money so I used some of that money, which in turn would of been DS3 childcare money, if you see what I mean. There are a few other things we pay monthly which over the next year I would like to pay in full ie car tax.
I'm going to go back to my money pots and saving 5p's, 20p's and £2 coins. I've also received my 5 year MSE award, how time flies.
Hope everybody has a great day.

Today has been a bit calmer. All visitors have gone home, DS1 was working today....every little bit helps!!, so managed to get some tidying up done. Went to the DIY store to get something we need to do a repair, I only went to get some fresh air, spent £4.
I've done a load of washing and got another load in. Although its forecast to be cold tomorrow we are out most of the day so thinking I'll peg out anyway, and then just deal with it when we come home.....crazy I know.:D
Off to meet some friends at a huge parkland place tomorrow. Will take a packed lunch and flasks. Do need £4 entry free/parking charge.
Need to get new diary/budget note book. Have dentist appointment this week as well.

Hi Alice
Season's Greetings to you and yours!
Glad you've had a riotous and enjoyable Christmas. I'm looking forward to THE annual event:Alice's January debtbusting score!
You sound much happier and more cheerful so I'm guessing it's a combination of ds1 being home, (Yay!), a goodly time off work and lots of lovely time eating and drinking with nearest and dearest.
We've had our usual quiet Christmas with just our lovely dd but it's been good. Currently away for a few days with her then back for 3 nights of parties before reality returns.
This year I've felt like I wanted to stop the cake and chocolates by Boxing Day having indulged in stollen far too long before Christmas. I'm hoping I haven't put too much on and back on the 5:2 next week regardless.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
Hi V, thank you and the same back to you. Glad you've had a good time.
I know the feeling about the 'extra' calories. I've just eaten anything and everything just for the sake of it.:(
Yeah I do feel very much back with the programme...as they say.
This morning I've been out, got birthday cards, some food bits for us and some things for DS to take back with him. Also got my new budget/diary book....yay.
Have sorted out the fridge, the only thing to throw away is some custard so not bad at all. Can't bear to waste food.
Yesterday we ended up eating out for tea with friends, spent £24. the washing had only dried about 10%. Put it on the heated airer overnight, all dry this morning.
Need to do meter readings and finish getting the house straight.

Hi Alice, I've read your diary while I've been off work over the past couple of weeks, you've done fantastically well and the number you post for January 2017 will be a huge step in the right direction and you'll have one less debt on your sig won't you?
I started out on a DMP at the same time as you with roughly the same amount of debt and as at today I've got £16.5k left to pay, you're ahead of me and I don't have three sons to support, just myself and a couple of cats. In the last couple of years I've also acquired an OH too but he's not allowed to contribute to the DMP or my normal household expenses - he covers the extra council tax I have to pay though. I think that you've done fantastically well to get this far with all the curved balls you keep getting and your replacing of loo seats made me laugh - I've got through a similar number by myself!“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
