Have sorted money out for everything and everybody for the week and I've got £1.14p left in my purse. DS1 will be going back to school this week, thankfully he didn't have many 'spots'.

Your posh hotel do reminds me of one we were at last year in London. They were charging us £20 for one bacardi and coke and two cokes on their own.

It was only when we realised the prices were changing each time we went up to the bar we realised the staff were fiddling like mad and the difference was going in a pot under the counter, or that they were charging for two cokes but only filling the glasses with one bottle of coke, split between two glasses. Actually as I type this I think I may have posted about it on my diary at the time so I think I am repeating myself ! :o.

I hope you enjoyed the wedding though . Sounds like you have had another busy weekend.

We have no clouds here today either, but it is pretty chilly xx

  • Thank you Mrs PG, DFW, mummy and brizzle, for all his faults he did good on Friday night.

We've had a hectic few days following a lovely day on Sunday. Monday was a NSD 5. Yesterday went to watch DS1 play in a cup final footie match.....£17 for us 4 to get in. It was worth it as they won but even so.:o We spent £4ish on drinks in the bar afterwards. Also put £20 petrol in the car (paid by cash!!!).

Tonight I've called into sburys and spent £30 food. OH took DS3 swimming, we had tea and then DS3 had a complete meltdown about not been able to go on DS2s xb0x......he was just so tired he'd argued black was white tonight.

I've sent a letter to OHs tax office (on his behalf) to see if he is eligible for a tax rebate as he has to wash his own uniform/workwear....probably not but worth asking for the price of a stamp.

Also posted the tokens for the L3g0land vouchers, might be a problem with the dates as me and OH have had to spread our holiday over the summer to ease childcare costs....we'll see.

Hope everybody is OK, haven't had chance to catch up on diaries yet this week. :( xx

  • Finally we've had an Arrears Notice from Bcard on the loan we have......outstanding balace £3384, now paying £72 per month (new amount).

Today I've paid childminer. Me and OH have taken lottery out of the 'pot'. I'm hoping putting £20 a week in this pot to pay for activities/lottery etc will stop me having to go the cash point for odd bits of cash.

We've decided to hold on the fridge/freezer (even though I feel under pressure from my parents (who have no idea about our financial situation:()) until the car has passed its MOT next month. Our emergency fund has dwindled a bit, we've been dipping in to pay for bits and pieces to sort out DS to go abroad to study.

    Must sort out car insurance!!

I'm really tired this week, work has been so busy and we've had a busy week with the kids and a few late nights......looking forward to the weekend. xx

  • Phew at last its the weekend. Last night DS2 had a cricket match (£2 out of the 'pot') I went straight from work to watch him whilst OH took DS3 football training, I can't tell you how cold I was. Of course I wasn't dressed for keeping warm but you'd like to think that at the end of May you don't need puffa jacket and scarf to watch a cricket match.

Then we had a chippy tea (money from food budget).

I've booked DS2 on a sports course for next weeks half term. Its £40 for the week, I know he could stay at home and look after himself but he's sport mad and all his friends are going. Bless him he offered to go on his bike to save him having to get a bus ticket for the week. Again all his friends are going on the bus and I don't want him to feel left out....we'll see.

    Also got haircuts next week.

OH off part of next week, hoping DS3 can go to my parents for the other days to save on childcare costs (although I still pay half when he doesn't go).

The Av0n lady has given up doing Av0n, I'm grateful really as she'd been doing it for years and was a really lovely lady, and I always felt l should buy something. I really liked one of their mascara so I've got about 5 in the drawer, so I'm OK for a bit and it should save a few pounds a month.

Off to C0stc0 this morning, have checked my prices against the supermarkets (the stuff I usually buy from C0stc0, make sure still cheaper!!) There is an A3da superstore close by so I'll call in there as I'm still trying to source some white vinegar in bulk.(If C0stc0 not as cheap). Would really like to make my own washing powder. Nearly at the end of the box so better get my finger out!!

Have pegged out, another load in the machine. We finally got round to putting weed killer on the back grass and in 48hrs the weeds are about 2 foot tall, will need to borrow the lawnmower again.....brizzle, still borrowing!:)

Tomorrow will try and get some stuff of ebay, free listing weekend I believe?!?

Right must get on! Hope everybody has some sunshine, have a great day. xx

Sorry to hear you have been so tired Alice. It seems to have been a long week, I have been exhausted .

Glad to hear you think you can hang onto the fridge / freezer a little longer, its tough isn't it when family expect you to just replace things immediately with no idea of your financial situation. I think I get this on a daily basis.

Hope you manage to enjoy the bank holiday weekend xx

    Well done on the borrowing!!

Take care of yourself and take even a few minutes out if you can. Maybe cut the grass and then sit with a glass of wine enjoying it?
