Problems with Tiscali

Had some problems with tiscali - in march 2004 i moved house and although tiscali said i could move my account there was no broadband available. i sent a few emails to them which they took some time to answer - normally 5 weeks. I phone dthem and they insisted that i could get broadband from where i was but bt said it wasn't available until september. I wrote cancelling my account with tiscali. they took money each and every month from my credit card and despite me cancelling my account they continued to take money from my account. Mastercard were informed and they refunded all the money and continued to refund me directly when tiscali took the money.
eventually mastercard found in my favour and cancelled the account with tiscali.
Two weeks ago i got a letter from direct legal - a collection agency for tiscali informing me i owed £99.98.
I then got an email saying that tiscali agree that there were technical problems and if i paid the outstanding balance £127.99 to clear the account they would then credit my account with an amount.
Today i got a call from them and i asked if it was being recorded, they said yes, i then told them all this and asked for it to be put on record. They told me the amount was still £99.98 and they were going to pursue me through the courts.
I also got a letter later on today informing me that if i did not pay in 14 days they would then take me to court looking for all costs and putting me on the credit blacklist.
Any ideas folks? I live in scotland if that makes any difference.

Oh dear! I've got almost the same problem with them! took out the free trial a year ago and cancelled it almost immediately but they started to take money from my cc and eventually the cc company stopped paying them in November but I didn't get any refund from Lloyds who are still pursuing me for interest!!!!! Tiscali still send out bills every month to me, so I'm sure I'll be at the debt collectors soon.
I can't even remember my Tiscali ID since I was only with them about a week.
I'm at my wit's end. They say my account is still active!!!!!!
Incidentally, I'm in Scotland too!

Just wondering if you people were still having problems? My brother in law had a problem like this although they never bothered to take anything from his account for 18 months and then wanted him to pay it all at once. We found out it was thier mistake.I have an e-mail address for the woman I dealt with if anybody wants it. She sorted it out within 24hours. By the way he has been waiting for almost 4 months to have it removed from his line but tiscali keep forgetting to put a cease order in to BT.0
