MBNA Amex cashback

Hi

Does anyone know when MBNA Amex pay their cashback please? Do I have to wait a year or is it a fixed date?

Thankyou:)

Thankyou - might pay for some of that Xmas spending then! Do you get it by cheque or put back onto your card? I always pay mine off each month so does that mean that I will just be in credit if its the latter?

    Thankyou once again :)
  • They put it on your card at statement date. Doubt you will be in credit though as what will happen is:

    Transactions total £1000
    Cashback is £100
Payment by DD will be £900

Is anyone else finding their 'Recent transactions' are missing from their online system over the last couple of days?
  • I noticed that today, logged in and they had disappeared. Just thought there was a glitch so waiting for 24 hours before raising issue

Anyone else received their cashback today? I got £92 paid onto my card - woohoo - I'm relaly chuffed - I've only had the card since April and its all thanks to this board for the recommendation  (I do pay it all off every month so its £92 completely free!)
  • Yes mine was applied also today. I queried a while back and they apply on the 1st working day of January
  • Cheers, just checked mine and I have earned £14.42 in 3 months which isn't bad for free!

Does anyone know if you can set up payments for things like utility bills, council tax etc with an amex card?

In principle you can - the problem will be finding a company or Council that will take Amex - and even if you do it may be whole bill only, not monthly payments, and they may make a charge that would outweigh the cashback.

Put it another way - I haven't found any that do accept Amex. Doesn't mean there aren't any though.

Do you know if there is a cashback credit card (visa?) that you could pay households bills by direct debit on?

That would be great, you'd essentially get a 1% (ish) discount on all your household bills!
