just in theory can you return a newspaper to tescos or asda or wherever if you're not satisfied with it? or would they tell you newspapers are not covered by their returns policy?
i've wondered this from time to time

Unless the paper (or anything else for that matter) is faulty then they can legally refuse to accept it for a return.
If you bought it by mistake and were returning it shortly after paying then they would probably accept it back, but I doubt very much if they would do so if you tried to return it the following day.0 -
well it will be hard to tell where you purchased it from.
but i once returned a paper the following day and got refunded, this was due to several pages with faded ink, so you could not read the paper.0 -
I return a copy of OK magazine to Tesco a few months back as the pictures were all blurred and they were making my eyes go funny ! I had my receipt though! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

That's a bit of a coincidence.
I've got a nice collection of magazines and some of the pictures in them would also make your eyes go a bit funny (but these ones weren't bought ftom Tesco).0 -
I have often thought that there should be a refund policy on prescriptions from the doctor if the stuff they prescribe doesnt work.
Not cheap these days, is it about £7.40 especially if the doc says 'we'll try these, if they don't, come back and we'll try something else'make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Although I agree with the idea, actually getting a refund could be extremely complicated.
The pharmacy would have done nothing wrong as they would have supplied exactly what was asked for, so if a refund was given then they would be the ones losing out.
The doctor or the NHS should really be the people responsible for refunding as the goods supplied were on their recommendation.
The procedure and paperwork involved in processing any refund would probably end up costing far in excess of the payment itself, especially once the NHS created a complete new department (along with its own staff and computer system).0 -

aren't prescriptions free
Not if you live in England. (Free in Scotland, Wales and NI, but not here).
Here they are only free for certain people. (children, OAP's, people on certain benefits, and some people with long term conditions)0
