Guilt over Tula bag

Options
I've admired this Tula bag for years in John Lewis but felt I couldn't justify the price but yesterday I was with a friend looking for a bag for my boyfriend to buy me for my 50th birthday this month and saw the Tula bag again, now at 75 pounds, its just the right bag for me, the strap, the pockets and everything. My friend persuaded me to get it for myself anyway even if my boyfriend said it was too much for him to pay so I bought it. He has said he will give me the money for it for my birthday but I still feel guilty about the price just for a bag and don't know whether to change it for an M and S one for half the price.

Would you love and enjoy using the M&S one as much as the Tula one? I suspect not.

It's a special bag for a special birthday bought by a special person. Enjoy it.

You`re worth it! Your Tula bag will give you years of pleasure and loyal service ( maybe much like your lovely bf? ) Enjoying using it, it will make you smile evey time you touch it :)

ETA - how about a wee linky so we can perv at some bag p*rn?
  • It will last years. If you buy a cheap one then you will need to replace it every year as it will soon look shabby. Think of it as £s per year of useage; it is a good investmant.

There's no point buying the cheaper bag if you are always going to be hankering over your dream bag, especially if the cheaper one doesn't last. I have a Tula bag and I keep it in it's dust bag and look after it and it still looks gorgeous after five years of use.

I had a bag from Asda, and although it was only £5 it died after a few weeks. If your Tula bag only last you 1.5 years it will work out cheaper - but if it lasts 5 years like Hermia's then it's a bargain!

Why do you feel guilty? You have given your reasoning but its as if your trying to justify the bag to someone: who are you trying to justify yourself to?

Your Tula bag is quality and will last for years, it will look good for years, you will love it for years. An M&S one will have to be replaced many times over the lifetime of a quality bag.

Good quality handbags are an investment :D

If you feel so guilty that you think you won't enjoy the bag because it cost too much for your boyfriend to pay then why not pay for it yourself and let him buy you something else for your birthday?

Enjoy having the bag you wanted.

I find that I only ever regret the things I DID NOT buy not the things I did. You got it at a good price so celebrate the bargain.
