Unsecured car credit with CCJ and a large deposit

I haven't actually tried yet but I'm concerned that I won't get credit from a dealer because of my age and credit history, I was issued a CCJ without my knowledge (moved out of a house without taking my name out of a bill and they didn't contact me, slapped a CCJ on me that I didnt know about until I checked my credit file!!) and I'm 21 years old looking fo around £40,000's worth of credit and I can put £10k down, I earn enough to afford the payments (£36k PA) are they likely to accept me even with the CCJ and my age?

They are unlikely to accept you with or without the CCJ. Over a years gross salary to buy a car is just stupid.
  • Sorry just realised that I should clarify, total amount would be £40,000 knocked down to £30,000 credit after my £10k deposit.

    Maybe I'm being unholy realistic.

You are being unrealistic. Just buy a 10 grand car and give it a year or two.You can get a pretty impressive two or three year old set of wheels for 10k

Afraid you are. With a CCJ you stand no chance of getting a £3k loan, never mind a £30k one.

What, like an evil Monk who's down to earth and level headed?

  • That's what I expected, no problem I shall just save for my dream instead!

I don't have much outgoings so if that's what I need to do then that's it, how long do CCJ's stay on your file?

Grief, its a right jolly weekend of fun on here.
How many ridiculous posts have we seen over the last couple of days?

OP, for goodness sake slap yourself. With interest you will pay over 50k for this tin can. If you won't slap yourself, get someone else to.

And with a ccj too lol
