Hi taxi just been reading your diary, i hope things go well for you, you deserve it.

White feathers do mean your guardian angel is with you. Last year i had to go to hospital for a scan and was worried about it, as i went outside i said a little prayer to my mum who had passed away sometime ago to help me. As i walked to the car, there in the middle of the back window was a white feather, spooked me but reasured me my mum was with me. Scan turned out fine, hope your angels are looking after you.

    Big hugs and take care.x

Hi Taxi - I'm more of a intermittant lurker these days, but wanted to post so you know that I am sending positive vibes for you and killer ones for Mr C!

Before my sister had her op, she was invited to take part in a research trial where they injected her lymph nodes with dye to investigate how the lymph flowed from her armpit and beyond. For all the advances in medicine, you'd have thought that someone would've thought of this by now ... but I suppose I'm glad they have now, This means that by extracting less lymph nodes, they can potentially tell how far the little bleeders have got :j

Very unfortunate that all your treatment last year did not mop up everything, but from what I read, your strength shines thro'

On another tangent ... does your cancer have a personality? I called it Mr C, so in my mind cancer is inherently male! It helps some people to imagine that their cancer is either hot coals, which glow and die or alternatively a block of ice that they can imagine melting and cooling the situation...

If I am up to see the lights this autumn and you want some reflexology please let me know (I am trained, insured and treat cancer patients and their carers each week as a volunteer for Macmillan)

Much love to you and yours

    NL x

Hi there Taxi - what Northern Las just said made me think of herbal, homeopathic stuff ... don't know anything about it, sadly, but will try to find out.

I didn't know about feathers! I've opened that link, about to start reading about it now, just as the men's marathon is finishing. Hope you're doing okay today.

Am doing fine thanks...am not in any pain at the moment hence not taking painkillers.I did take some when it was really bad.

NL....I had dye injected the first time I had cancer and had my sentinel nodes removed which did NOT have any cancer in them when removed ...I had them removed at the same time as my breast cancer lump was removed...I then had chemotherapy and radiotherapy to mop up any stray cells...this obviously didn't work !!!..seeing as I now have 2 lymph nodes out of 7 affected by cancer..these have been removed and will have my scan on 20th Aug to see if it's spread anywhere else and then need to see surgeon/oncologist to see what the treatment plan is this time...the breast cancer I had was a rarish one that has a high probability of return within 2 years...I'm awaiting the full pathology report to see if it is the same type again....everything is a bit of a mystery to me at the moment
