Thanks everyone...I'm fine had my chemo yesterday and slept ok last night.
Have just enjoyed weetabix with warm milk and a banana for breakfast..haven't had that for years.

Aw glad you had a good night taxi.
Mmmm Weetabix and warm milk. Long time since I had that as well. Think I'll be getting some Weetabix soon :-)
Did you ever have something called pobbies. It's a Lancashire dish of bread, warm milk and sugar. Sounds yuk but I remember having this when I was really really young, but no one I know, apart from family, have ever heard of it.

That takes me back, dizzy lizzie.

We used to have what you call 'Pobbies' too except we were in Yorkshire and called it 'Pobs'.

Must be a northern delicacy then. My Dad used to call it that (in the 1950s) but like you I don't know anyone else who knew the word.

Taxi........thinking of you as ever. Keep smiling:)

Hi taxi, I used to like weetabix in hot milk sometimes too :) Pleased to hear you had a good day.

I'm from Leicestershire, but we used to just call pobbies/pob, "bread & milk", sometimes added a small dab of butter too, defitely a comfort food if ill or under the weather..

read the other posts and realised other people know of it....as I said never heard of it and don't fancy it either.
As usual I've not been up to anything except lazing about in my nightie...it's too cold to get dressed and go out anywhere...really should go out as need to get christmas presents for grandchildren but not a clue what to buy any of them..let alone my own grown up children and their partners...sigh

:D Was definitely an acquired taste. Glad to see others had it though. Was beginning to wonder if I'd dreamt it :D
We were out today taxi and it was flipping freezing. Could you do of your Christmas shop online once you know what you're getting?

the only problem with online shopping is trying to predict when it will arrive as have to go to hospital twice a week
  • That's true huni. And there's always the chance they don't turn up when they say they will.
