Potatoes from the garden with dinner - however, my mint is dying
New potatoes for dinner, yummy!
I should do a furtle to see if there are any/ready in ours. I have seen the violet/yellow flowers, but I think I'll wait until the plants start withering.
I would love to have a mint plant. I wonder whether it is possible to use cuttings from a supermarket veggie-aisle mint plant?

Morning US, potatoes were ok but not as prolific as last year. The weather is really messing up the crops this year.
I am planting the mint out tonight so will see how it goes in a bed. I have always said I wouldn't put mint into the garden in case it goes mad but I use a lot of it and it gets expensive - fingers crossed.

Morning, payday looms and mortgage after offset will be £261,500. By September payday we will be at £250k. I had worked out we would need some of October's money to hit this target. From November 2011 to September we will have cleared £66k - thanks to the additional bonus payments and salary increase received, plus not wasting our money anymore. This means in June 2013 we will be £500 off the £200k target. I will read back through my diary and check but I think this is definitely 1 month earlier than planned.
I want to clear as much as possible before October 2014 when first child goes to Uni. I think by then we will be at £117k ish - if all goes according to plan, which we can't guarantee. Still a gap to achieve target but it's heading in the right direction.
Off for a dog walky/run now - not in the mood but am sure I will feel better once I am outside.

Just plant your supermarket mint plant in a big pot in decent all purpose compost. It might not live forever, but if you feed and water it, it will last for the summer at least x1 -
Hi Dawn,I wonder whether the pot I had it in was too small - anyway, it's is now divided into 4 and 1 small plant is in a spare bed which we had cleared to change the garden plan, and it will be fine there, even if it takes over a little. The other 3 are in bigger pots, so let's see how they go. I use tons of mint though so I am hoping it works. I have so much basil growing in the greenhouse that I am making pesto to serve with pasta for the weekend

On our quest to declutter the drinks cupboard - DH made lemon syllabub this evening, using (excuse my spelling) Limoncello, remaining lemons and double cream - I can't imagine it was too healthy but tasted fab and now we just have enough left for a shot glass each - I don't think we would buy again so will be glad to regain the space in the cupboard.
I had an almost empty jar of artificial sugar, so I have decanted into a very small container and the jar has joined others in the recycling bag. Plus, I am still working my way through the jars of pickles in the fridge. Sandwiches made for tomorrow with a variety of pickles, onion and chilli for me, br@nston for child 1 and mango chutney for child 2. I could not believe how much stuff was in the fridge, and also how we stop seeing it - once these are cleared, we will stick with our homemade ones.
NSD today and tomorrow - off to the cinema tomorrow for a free viewing so looking forward to a cheap night. No snacks in the house to take, and I am not paying extortionate prices for a coke, so it will have to be a flapjack and bottle of water.

Payday and signature updated. Certainly motivating us to stick with the plan. It will be an exciting moment when we hit the next target of £250k :T
Mr T thinks we may need a new (to us) car as we are over 109k miles - now that will impact our MF date so reluctant to do that, but we do have to live as well. Need to think/talk about this more.2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:
