Hi. Feeling very thick as Im told its a doddle setting up the Kindle 4 . Bought at Currys. Brought it home and immediately was stuck as I dont have a clue what my 'wi fi' password its asking for is . I use Sky through Netgear , so Ive tried my Sky password (which is correct as I can use it to access my Sky account) , but it says thats incorrect , so what password does it want, I dont remember being given a password to go with Netgear?

when i got my kindle i had to ask my daughter what the password was for our router
as she'd changed it a while a go when we had the lap top.
she saved the pass word under a word doc in case she forgot it.
it was to many letters and number to remember any how.
good luckcredit card bill. £0.00

The password might be on the bottom of the router, I am not promising but its worth having a look.0

I too am struggling.
I'm asked for network name and password. On the bottom of my Belkin wireless router (which has numerous wires!!) there are 3 sets of numbers: a LAN/WLAN MAC: number, a WAN MAC number, and a SERIAL # number.
Belarc Advisor tells me I have a 802.11n Wireless LAN Card #2 and a
Microsoft ISATAP Adapter
Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter
↓ Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
Anyone any idea what my network name and password are likely to be?0 -
In your router wireless settings will be your network name and security password, assuming you have security set up.0

I have never used wireless, I haven't a clue where to find network name and there will not be any security set up.0

It needs to be set up if you want to use your Kindle to download from Amazon using the Wifi, I am not familiar with a Belkin router but you need to log into the router and set the wireless network up and secure it with a password, I would suggest you check how to do it from the user manual for your particular router model.0

I have no router manual, I fear I will have to engage an "expert". Why does it have to be wi-fi?0

Google your router & you will find the manual, it has to be WIFI cos that's what it uses, unless you have the 3G version.0
