Do I lose Orange email account if I cancel Orange broadband?

After numerous problems, I'm thinking of cancelling Orange broadband.
The only thing that worries me is whether or not I will lose my current Orange email account? I have lots of contacts/information on there and changing my address will cause problems.
Anyone know whether I'll still be able to use it?
Thanks in advance.

You lose it .
However it may be years before you use it as the ISPs tend to either leave them running or switch them off in a block .

You can buy a domain name with your own email address or use google mail or similar independent of any ISP .

My email account was terminated, I think that I had 1 or 2 months to change my contacts etc. They did inform me about how many days I would have and they stuck to it.
My mother had the same thing too.

This can be a minefield with all companies but usually one of the following happens:
1) You get to keep it permanently
2) You get to keep it for a few months
3) You don't get to keep it
4) The customer services people tell you something but the information turns out to be wrong and you lose the account...
In my experience 4) has happened to a lot of people with differing companies - so I wouldn't rely on isp email.
Either sign up for something web based like gmail/hotmail or get your own domain it will be worth it in the long run0 -
I left orange broadband a couple of years ago, and i still have access to, and use my old 'freeserve' email address.
Every now and again (once a year) i usually have to confirm that the account isn't dormant through their website. (They usually send me an emai)Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. - Albert Einstein0 -
My un-official theory is that, if the address was set up under dial-up it has more chance of continuing than if it was set up under broadband.
I still have a Tiscali (dial-up) address set up in 2005 which still works as a 'sign up' address.
Otherwise it's a mix of gmail and my own domain.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
I had one years ago, and stopped it. Use Internet based one.0

Didn't work for me when I left HORRANGE in 2008; It stopped working and wouldn't let me re-confirm. I think HORRANGE just cleared down a whole batch of old Freeserve addys at the time (altho' they denied it!!)0 -

Thats what i was told last week on asking for MAC code from TT Business . You will lose your email address no problem i replied many of my old accounts are stilling running . CS reply was maybe but as its an original F2S account we shut them down in batches .
As mentioned here already my old dial up emails remain for many many years . Tiscali still in use > LineOne in use for may years but i lost it in 2011 . >> some of the other smaller ISP email accounts are long gone once the ISP closed or was bought out .
I keep my old Tiscali email for joining forums and other stuff where i only need to browse web mail for a known reply and ignore the spam as its not via downloaded email account .
