Sorry for the newbie post, but on one of these threads I saw something about kid dress up costumes - is it all the costumes? there are loads in my local express but they are priced at £15 and there is no SS scanner?0

Thanks dodo. Will the direct debit have started processing do you think? I'm just so annoyed they take extra money when they feel like it. I think there's been a major boo boo/fraud somewhere because the man couldn't find any trace that it had been taken. Had similar happen few years back with a holiday company but that was for hundreds of pounds, luckily got money refunded through visa. Appreciate your reply.

As I said in my other post, Shop Direct haven't requested it and your bank haven't paid it to them. Your bank is just holding it for the weekend. I can't remember what the actual reasoning was behind this though as it was years ago.0 -
Tut no big selection boxes at Tescos Gxxle just the little cadbury packet ones going through at £3 each B1G2F, there is no way I was going to pay £3 for three little ones when you guys are getting the biggies, so will check St Stexxens Tomoz. I had to make do with a Technica Dab Clock Radio I Pod Player with an OOD SEL of 39.99, went through at 59.99 so got £40 back so it cost me 19.99, Iv been looking one for a while but wasn't prepared to pay full price, these glitches really spoil you don't they, my DD was quite excited with the bargain but I ummd and ahhed, cos it was costing me £20!!!!
Might even take it back, would I get the price I paid for it or the reduced price on the OOD sel, SA marked my receipt but does that matter??
You SHOULD get what you paid, but some CS assistants try to argue its what you should have paid. Argue your case and see how you get on.0 -
Nectar card is B.P. & Sainsburys & other places reward card
Also amazon+argos where you can redeem points for purchases. Not as good as Tesco clubcard but I find there are times when we have to shop at sainsburys so you may as well have the points. I also combine my nectar card with an Amex nectar card which means I double my pointsAwaiting a new sig0 -
Sorry, there was also something about foxes biscuits for £5......the only ones I saw were for £6 reduced from £12......have they changed it or is it a different product in Scotland?0

All sorted!! Apparently it's a £25 charge by the bank for going over my overdraft (by nearly £2!!) at the end of Sept (day before pay day). So they still paid Littlewoods for me. I've obviously overlooked and didn't realise I had gone over but I've received no notification that this charge would be taken. When I queried why the charge had not shown as pending on my account she didn't know. Nice lady has refunded it back as a goodwill gesture
. Can breathe again now! lol. Oh how I hate the week of scrimping and scraping before pay day!! Ta for all the advice you're all fabarooney

It's because the 21st is a Monday. I've had this happen before when I was with Clydesdale Bank for various Direct Debits. When I phoned the bank to enquire I was told not to worry, it's not *payee* taking the money, we're just holding it for the weekend to make sure the money is there on Monday and it will be debited from your account on Monday, not Friday. True to his word he was right but it is highly annoying at having money you may need tied up all weekend.
I'm with RBS now and I'm sure they do the same. Can't say it works like that for all banks though.
I used to work for Barclays, a standing order your bank sends the money to the person/company you want to pay, a direct debit the company asks your bank for the money within the terms of the direct debit mandate you signed most are unspecified amounts so the company has to inform you if the amount changes from the first payment before they take the money.
Standing orders & direct debits going out at a weekend or a bank holiday will be actioned on the next working day.0 -
