Ok someone enlighten me as to what the h&b days were (I gather health & beauty but no ideas beyond that)? I shall be stuck in the house today following the glitching from my laptop. I've been awake since 5am, nose constantly running, voice almost gone, busting headache, want to scratch my nose & eyes out and I'm thinking I may have to call the docs for some steroids in case my asthma goes haywire.

I've never had so many colds/flus/infections since I quit smoking and my asthma is worse now than it was when I was on 20 a day  Go figure.

Was a great time for tesco clubcard points collectors.

They used to put out leaflets with 500 extra points if you spent £10 on toiletries etc. Thing was the tills saw the £10 before offers so if you bought the stuff that was on bogof that week you only actually spent £5. Add to that the fact Tesco used to take the coupons back then even if you didn't buy the products which meant you often spent 10p or 20p for your toiletries and 500 points (worth £20 converted into clubcard rewards).

Its was not hard to rack up 50k points per quarter doing this. 50k points being worth £2000. You'd have spent in real hard cash in tesco no more than £50 or so.

Also thanks shiningstar for the other info, we are watching her carefully..... she is mostly sleeping in the box i would like her to give birth in, which is in the spare room..... but she took to laying on a spot on the carpet  under my DS bed yesterday, so I have placed a box there too.

I think it's just a case of watch and wait.....

Ok, now off to Mums, think she was chasing me up as I said I would be there later in the morning and it's now 12! opps! :o
  • would it be really naughty of me if i did something 'noisy' - accidentally on purpose - so that OH and DS wake up??? im bored n wanna go Tesco-ing. lol.

Suppose the dining room could do with another hoover..... he he

I smoked for many many years and at my height smoked 3 packs a day! I'd even smoke in the shower. I'd tried all sorts of things to quit all with no success at all, then I saw some reviews about this book online. I mentioned it in conversation to my OH of the time and the next day I was the owner of a copy.

After reading the first couple of chapters I panicked and put it on the shelf because it was clear that should I read the book, I would be a non-smoker with immediate effect and that kinda scared me despite my desire to give up. A couple of months went by and I took it back off the shelf and started reading it. Now the beauty of this book is you are allowed to smoke while reading it, in fact its actively encouraged!! Each night I'd goto bed and while having the final smoke of the day would read a chapter or two, and when the book was finished I'd re-read chapters that I felt were most poignant to me over and over. Then I read the final part about picking the time that was right for me. I looked at the ciggy I was smoking and said aloud "you'll be the last one as tomorrow I will be a non-smoker".

Here I am 7 years on and I have to say its been easy. The first couple of weeks were an absolute breeze thanks to the book. Of course now and a gain I fancy a cigarette, but I have no desire to become a smoker again with all the crap that brings!

Good luck to you all anyway. :)
  • I know a few people that quit by using a tablet prescribed by their doctor... cant for the life of me remember what it was called... Think it began with 'C' basically, you carry on smoking as normal, but take these tablets... after a week or so, supposidly, they make you just not want to smoke anymore.......???
