Bought Concert Tickets - Gig is tomorrow but no show!

I bought some tickets for Arctic Monkeys @ Glasgow SECC. I paid £100 for a pair plus £5 for next day delivery, this was on Tuesday. Once I had paid I got a message from the seller telling me they would be posted the next day, recorded, so would arrive Thursday. They still haven't arrived and the postman has just delivered today's mail. The gig is tomorrow and as that is a Sunday, they aren't going to arrive now.

I sent the seller a message yesterday explaining that the tickets hadn't arrived and asked her to confirm they had been sent and provide a tracking number - but no reply. She has good feedback and the communication was excellent prior to this so I'm a bit bamboozled!

So basically I'm wondering how do I go about claiming my money back? Obv waiting the x number of days required by eBay, so I can report the item as not arriving, is useless to me now. If they arrive on Monday, obv the tickets will be worthless!

Thanks!

  • Has it been marked as dispatched? You could try calling them if there details are available?

Advice in other threads is to put an item not received claim through paypal.

The seller should have sent them special delivery, is there any chance you can call your delivery office in case they've been taken back there & get there in time to collect them today? They may have closed already though.
If not you'll have to open an INR in paypal

Not marked as dispatched, and yes called the post office.
I doubt I'll be able to raise it as item not received, as I only purchased them 4 days ago?
If they arrive on Monday, when they will be worthless, how should I proceed?

I just sent the seller another message informing her that the tickets haven't arrived asking her to refund my money.

Its surely the sellers responsibility to send it via next day delivery and not use recorded delivery which goes in normal post and can take up to 1-3 days
  • I agree if that's what was paid for.

She should have sent them special next day delivery, costs £5.45 at the Post Office and there is tracking.
If I were you I would not accept the tickets if they do arrive next week - refuse to sign for them.
Perhaps try emailing the seller again - sometimes emails get lost in transit with ebay - if you don't get a reply you can open an INR 3 days after estimated delivery date i.e. last Thursday.

When I sold two tickets earlier this year I sent them by special delivery it was only a few days before the concert. I think concert was Saturday and tickets got there Thursday

The postal method sated was next day (recorded), and that's what she told me she was going to use.

Arrrgh, so annoyed. I just hope it's a smooth enough process to get my money back :(

Well if thats the case I would have thought you should get your money back in full. Its not your fault they were cheapskates its obviously backfired on them, give them a chance to make amends before making a dispute.

You say you paid for next day delivery which is trackable and guaranteed next day. However, recorded, which you say was how the item was sent is not trackable and takes as long as normal post.
