Orange Care Admin fee gone from £15 to £25 = RIP OFF!!
I got a letter from orange today saying " we recently wrote to you in October regarding changes to the admin fee agreement, the changes we wrote to the fees then were wrong..."
I never got any such letter. I think changing the fee mid contract is breaking my contract with them.
Is there anything I can do to keep it to the £15 ?
As £25 seems a stupidly high amount to pay when I'm allready paying £6.99 a month.
Many thanks for any advise

There is no contract. It's a monthly rolling agreement and, as such, you are free to cancel at any time.0

£25 is quite cheap, my excess is a whopping £100, if you don't like it then cancel the policy and go somewhere else0

I started this thread when they Orange told me they were changing the admin fee to an excess fee of £50

They didn't change their minds, they sent out a letter with the £50 excess fee on by mistake0

£50 excess for iPhones. £25 for other h/sets. It's because h/sets have become soooooo expensive, so rather than penalise everyone with higher premiums, they've chosen to increase the excess. Bear in mind the admin fee has been £15 since it was introduced about 10 years ago, so it was bound to go up. I'm surprised it's not gone up sooner.
Yeah, go and insure your phone with Lloyds TSB et al, but their excess is £100 for an iPhone and expect to wait 2 weeks+ for your claim to be settled, and the hassle of form filling and getting proof of purchase etc.
With Orange, one quick call, phone delivered next day, £25/50 excess on next bill (so you don't have to shell out immediately) - job done.
I say that's far more convenient.
I cancelled my LTSB Silver account (was £7.95/mth now £9.95/mth) and have decided to go direct with my network (Vodafone) at £12.99/mth - purely for the convenience above alone.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
