Bless you Cecilia.
I got the calling at age 13 and again the year before my eldest son was born - which is quite extraordinary when one considers that I wasn't brought up in any Christian faith.
Inbetween the callings I saw a documentary about the Poor Clares and felt drawn...unfortunately circumstances have always put a stop to me joining - I'm now married with 2 children.
Obviously God decided to put me on another path, but my eyes are filling up now at the thought of what could have been.
My heart and well wishes go out to you and I really hope that all goes well with you xxStone walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage.0 -

How strange is the coincidence as I now live in Norfolk.
There are not any Sisters teaching there now, it is a different school altogether.
I used to live in Ladbroke Grove hence why I went to those two schools.
The Convent is a beautiful and peaceful place and I hope you will be very happy there.

Hi
I am not familiar with your story either, and although now an atheist, I was brought up in a catholic environment, and had nuns as teachers at school. They did an awful lot for the community and were highly respected. Unfortunately their convent shut down some years ago.
I wish you all the best in your new venture xI don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Thanks for all your kind words.
The next few weeks will be dtrange. I go away on 15th Nov for a live-in with the sisters until 12th Dec, then I am home and working for 3wks before I movr up.
Yes, its been a tough couple of weeks. At first I was terrible fragile and in absolute shock, I was devastated. Peopne on MSE were amazing, helping me deal with the job centre who were reluctant to allow me any benefits, and providing a huge amount of both practical and emotional support. I am so grateful that saying it doesnt come close. Although I post here rarely now (tending to stick to a Catholic forum)I felt it was only right to let all you stars know hoe much you helped me. Thank you x0
