But I will be re-entering the convent in January. Actually, I am not returning to the same community, but to Notting Hill where I have been visiting on and off for a year. Suddenly, about May time, I realised that actually, I didn't want to go back where I had been, that I wanted a community with more traditional values and discipline, and from then it has all been far easier.
Thanks to everyone who supported me so much in those early days 2yrs ago, I don't know how I would have ever managed without you - I even got my job thanks to this site!

Hi Cecilia, thanks for the update. I was thinking about you a couple of weeks ago as there was a programme on the BBC about young girls who were joining convents. Some didn't have a plain sailing experience and it got me to think about you and wonder how you were doing.
I wish you luck and I hope you will be very happy in Notting Hill.LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

Thanks, yes I watched that documentary, thought it was very wll done actually and highlighted that, however ready you may feel, often youre not. I had actually visited both the communities as well (as a guest not an aspirant) and they are lovely communities. As for the Franciscans (grey habits) I would have loved be join them, but its just not where God wants me.
If anyone is interested, this is where I am going http://youtu.be/Wxa7PhAEX640 -

This is the convent which was attached to my primary school. The nuns used to grow and sell flowers for a penny a bunch to raise money to support themselves. I used to spend every Saturday morning helping to dust inside the Church. I could hear the Nuns in closed order behind the panelling of the Church and used to get a little afraid sometimes, I was only about 6 at the time. I was taught by Nuns at St Charles School and then went on to Cardinal Manning. (now called Sion Manning). Very fond memories for me from over 50 years ago. I wish you all the very best for your future life.

Yes its just next door. There are still a few convents nearby but I don't know that any sisters teach there now. Its very different being enclosed in London than it was in Norfolk where we had 26acres of enclosure!0 -
God Bless. xPlease do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
