which suggests they would be quite happy to compensate you for the cost of the shoes if you can demonstrate the amount you're asking for is not something you've plucked out the air. I agree. I think it also shows that all the discussion about who is at fault is entirely irrelevant. They have agreed to compensation the OP. The only issue now is the value of the claim.0
