have you sorted the car (or lack of....) out for tomorrow? I hope you manage to fix one (well two would be better...) Perhaps it's time to start a 'new car fund' I managed to save up for our current one in a few months by using the emergency funds and scrap money from the last one. It's a big car which is a pain in costs but it is a good runner and *touch wood* we haven't spent too much on it compared to our last disaster!

:j:j Yey car sorted, well one of them at least ! My car turned out to be a smaller issue than originally thought, something to do with the Air Flow filter. The garage ordered one for us this afternoon but told us the car was fine to drive , all be it slowly in the meantime. We took the bull by the horns, hitched the trailer on the back of the car and tootled up to Suffolk after we finished work. Pitched the tent in the field ready to head back up tomorrow night . That sounds a weird plan I know but we cant get up there until about 10pm tomorrow and we now need to come home late Saturday night so we will only manage one night and one day . ( all great plans and that !) By putting the tent up and getting organised it saved us some time tomorrow night and it isn't too far away from us. We know the owners well and they regularly let us leave our tent there incase we find the odd spare night to go and visit.
When we arrived the garage called to say the Air Flow thingy had already arrived. They hid it outside the garage for us to collect tonight after they had closed, we picked it up, Mr PG fitted it in 15 mins and also replaced two brake lights that had gone and we are all set !:T
Problem car number one solved again, for the time being at least and Mr PG now has a vehicle to get to work in tomorrow. I, on the other hand will be chained to the desk trying to drum up some extra business that is in short supply !
Car number two still languishing in the garage but some progress has been made with it.
So all in all a productive ish dayLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

How things change in such a short space of time in the PG Household.
After all the panicking yesterday ,the goalposts completely changed with the job we were doing today and Mr PG had to start far earlier than originally planned, therefore meaning he didnt need a car after all today. I dropped him at the station at 6am this morning which meant that I now have the car, which is good so I can re arrange the appointments I had cancelled and hopefully fit in a quick visit to my parents early evening.
Mr PG will now be home from work much earlier now, meaning we neednt have pitched the tent yesterday. We will now arrive much earlier this evening and we could have just done it today and saved ourself the journey yesterday , but we didnt know that at the time.
Work phone going like crazy last night , we ended up turning down about 6 jobs as they were all covering the same days and also turned down another 5 jobs for later in the month as we are already booked, again for the same dates. It so infuriating, as we have loads of free dates we need to fill at other times in the month, but thats the nature of the work and the way the cookie crumbles. Times like this we need to be chopped into lots of little pieces to be able to accept all of the work. Ho Hum !
I have been working since dropping Mr PG off today, so poured myself a coffee and have done the VAT return this morning and paid it ( gulp !) Paid another £30 to THEM, not much but something, chased some invoices via email as noone in work yet These are for overdue invoices. Invoiced for a couple of other jobs and had a very quick trawl on the diaries !
Off now to drag the girls out of bed as I have heard all the alarms going off but there is no sign of life coming from the bedrooms !!
Have a good day everyone xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

The plus side of pitching the tent last night is that you get to RELAX when you get there tonight. There doesn't seem to be much of that going on in PG land of late!
Tis such a pity all those jobs won't accept Mr PG at a time that fits in with your diary-gaps, isn't it (sigh)?

Glad it is all working out - as I was reading through and you mentioned camping in Suffolk but no car I was going to offer to come and get you and bring you back here.
But carried on reading and you are all sorted.
Hope you have an enjoyable weekend!0 -

So glad everything worked out in the end :T and when you get to the campsite you get to relax now with a big glass of well deserved wine instead of pitching up the tent
