I will retire from cooking duties for the next few days in the hope of keeping my fingers intact ! Wonder if the girls fancy making a few dinners while I settle down and watch !

Evening Everyone,
Well what a busy old week, lots of free naughty thoughts, slicing of fingers and other body parts, I'm beginning to wonder "whatever will next week bring ?!" :rotfl: Its been good to have a giggle, you do all make me laugh !
Onto boring serious things, my dishwasher has packed up. Ok, I know its a luxury, but I hate washing up so much. Mr Pinot has joined a forum thingy and has possibly managed to find out whats wrong with it, and hopefully he can fix it for about £30 ish. I really do hope so
. Think he is planning on pulling apart the Dishwasher this evening and looking at the PCB board or something equally technical to see what he can find.
Last night while collecting the Girls from Dance classes in Mr Pinots car ,whilst driving down the windy lanes at abou t8pm, both headlights decided to give up the ghost, plunging us into darkness ! Now that was fun . I pulled over, turned the engine on and off, just incase they decided to work ( the car does have a tendency for these odd glitches) but it didnt do any good. So we drove home on side lights and fogs and when noone was coming the other way full beam. I was dreading what the outcome might be, but it appears one of the bulbs blew and by some fluke the other one did as well, so Mr Pinot has replaced those and the car is back in working order ( Whew)
Today I had to go out and buy some birthday presents. I feel terrible in saying that I dont actually enjoy shopping for presents for other people anymore, as all I can think of is that the money could have been spent on something the girls may need and / or popped into the emergency pot. Unfortunately it is Mr Pinots mum and although her expectations from us possibly arent very high, the rest of his family will be expecting us to pull some amazing gift from nowhere. As much as we have tried over the last few months explaining that things are tough, his siblings live in a little world of their own and appear to have no real understanding of our explanations. Anyway the birthday party is this weekend. Its a 2 hour drive away and we need to be there bright and early( I was hoping for a lie in ) None of us are really looking forward to it as the whole thing has caused a bit of a rift, but the mood I'm in if anyone makes any comments, I will not be responsible for my actions. Mr Pinot has been warned !! I am usually very placid (ish) but they have really pushed me these last few months
On another note, I cashed the cheques I have earnt over the last few months from Music MAgpie CLothes for Cash etc etc ( I hadnt had a chance to get to the bank so had been hoarding them ) They came to a grand total of £134.80 . So thats a bit more in the Emergency pot.
DD1 is at a sleepover this evening and DD2 has friends here now to play. Once they have gone I plan to settle down with a nice bottle of A£di red and a movie or a good book. Reading CArmen Reids - The Jewels of Manhattan at the moment.
Hope you all have a lovely evening and a good weekend xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi Pinot,
What a week indeed! Loving the naughty thoughts are free mantra too! I'm quite partial to Richard Fillion (Castle) myself. :blushing:
Fingers crossed Mr PG can fix the dishwasher. We use ours every day and it's great because it means no pots sitting on the kitchen top AND the boys can load/unload it. I don't think we'd be without one now.
How odd that both bulbs should go at the same time but must have been a relief to know it was nothing more sinister and an even bigger relief to get home in one piece. Hope you treated yourself to a nice glass of wine.
I hope the birthday party goes well. I used to hate family get togethers as there was always an atmosphere, which got worse after my parents divorced. One of the benefits of being half way around the world means I'm no longer expected to attend family parties. It's just a little too far to travel.
Well done on upping the emergency fund. :j I bet it's a great feeling.
Enjoy the wine, the dvd/book and the rest of your weekend.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Pinot - Im not sure whether this is very good MSE advice or not but if you need an electrical board what about looking on ebay for the parts - we brought a washing machine part along those lines a year ago from there alternatively we brought our dishwasher from ebay (yes its used but we paid £25 and its fantastic only couple of years old silver one)
Another idea was we got a dishwasher last year from our local Freecycle or Freegle not sure which one - it was old but lasted us until we had a few pounds to get one from Ebay
Freecycle / Freegle is addictive for me you can ask for things look for things offer things - anything from cardboard boxes for moving to sofas! and its completely FREE!
Hope your day out is ok in the end x yes there is an atmosphere here also due to "outlaw family" - our arguement was due to the fact that "his" family just dont have a clue sometimes .......... I will leave it at that :rotfl:

Well done on those cheques :T:T
Morning , good to hear I'm not allowing in referringto them as the Outlaws, most people look at me very oddly, hence the nickname wasnt written here !!
Thankyou for the tips. We did the same last year with our washing machine, and the boiler actually and it saved us loads of money. We will be heading to ebay for dishwasher parts if need be.
I have had a look at Freecycle in the past, I have friends who have the loveliest furniture from Freecycle, I cant remember what they exchanged in return though. I will have a search for a dishwasher as I hadnt thought of doing it.
Mr Pinot left for work bright and early this morning, so its just me and DD2............its lovely to spent some time on my own with her. I'm missing DD1 loads, I dont like it when she has sleepovers, sad cookie of a mummy that I am, so I rang her for a chat last night and disturbed all of her fun !!
Think we might make some pancakes in a minute before planning the rest of our day x:)LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

morning pinot!
I need to stop coming to your thread - I have just wasted 20 mins googling all the men mentioned on here:rotfl:
I was given my dishwasher & i couldn't live without it. I'm washing up at the moment for the next week as need salts & rinse aid & omg it reminds me how lazy i am and how convenient a dishwasher is :rotfl:
I've got some great things off freecycle too. Plant pots (bit stone ones) a t.v for mum after hers blew up:eek: was a big 32 inch one too :T ummm toys, clothes and things for the house! I've also given stuff away before now but tbh i can't for the life of me work out how to use the local one to us nowthe one in kent was so much easier
