  • I had a lovely time thankyou ! I dosed myself up full to brimming with Day Nurse and off we trotted.

I was very spoilt and it was lovely spending time together. Thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful meal and snuggled down to watch a Movie at the newly refurbished Electric Cinema in the big leather sofas while supping a glass of PG . Had a little mooch around the posh shops in the area and the Antique market where we picked up a couple of little bits for the girls Xmas stocking. I would have loved to have had more time, but sadly work got in the way yesterday so we didnt manage to head into down until later in the day .........but all in it was lovely and something I could get very used to !! :D

The girls had a great evening as well and had left us a beautiful Anniversary card which we opened when we got home . :)

So now back to reality ! :(

Work went crazy yesterday, so things are rather thectic today. I am also trying to drum up a contract for early next year if I can , so rather than the day to day work we have something a ltitle more long term as January and February are always very very difficult, so thats the main job for the day. Inland Revenue have sent another demand through for payment, I will in turn send them another letter back explaining once more that they cant have what we havent got.
    On the money front :-

S@ntander have refunded the interest they had added to the loan which I was complaining about the other week.:D

M@S - They have accepted our payment offer again for another 6 months.:D

Westc0t / R0ckwell/ @rrow Saga continues - Bascially noone has responded to me re the missing money that was paid to Westc0t earlier this year and they appear to have lost !. The Account was put on hold in August by R0ckwell whilst they and @rrow investigated with Westc0t. I have heard nothing since and also paid nothing towards the debt as I was told not to whilst it was being investigated. I am a bit uneasy about this. I am not sure whether to write to them and jog their memories, or sit tight.

If anyone has any thoughts ( HH are you hiding out there please ?!) they would be appreciated.

Hope you all have a good day xx

    Morning

Apologies for being awol, not had the opportunity to catch up proper for weeks, work very busy!

Rose you should be fine as its soreta pay as you go, if you dont pay they stop the insurance, little risk to them.

    PG, day out sounds lovely.

I'd sit tight over Westcot saga. The burden of responsibility is on them as you have responded and if it came before a judge you can show that. Tax on the other hand....... priority debt. Yes if you don't have it you don't have it.... but... you need to keep them onside. They must have other people on this scenario with the recession etc. Have you considered calling them and asking what the options are. Now that Starbucks have offered to throw some pennies in the pot they may be more leniant?!!! are you saving tax up to pay in a lump or contributing as you go along? Just a thought, it would be good in my view if you can keep drip feeding to show a willing etc.

    Hope that helps

    Take care everyone

    HHx

  • I seem to be dipping in and out of Diaryland at the moment. Where are the days going ?

Sure I am due to post a mammoth update and also need to settle down with a cuppa and choice biscuits and catch up on everyone's news. I will aim to do that soon.

In the meantime , the quick news is :-

Another £250 paid to HMRC :D

Company VAT paid , that cleared us out

Took girls to the Electric Forest last night .........so much fun ! :T

Realised I am not as organised as I thought for Xmas and dreamt last night that all of our guests arrived on Christmas Day and there was nothing to eat or drink. Not one solitary thing !! The reason for this dream is that we had no income, therefore no money to buy the celebratory food and drink to feed the hordes arriving for the mandatory Christmas lunch to include canap!s washed down with Champagne , sorbet mid course, starters mains and a selection of at least six desserts. Oh and not forgetting tea in the evening of course !

Sadly the reason for this dream is partially true. We have no work :( not one solitary day. This have never happened before in December. It's always quieter and things are last minute, but its never been this quiet.:eek: we have gone from being totally crazy, turning work away last week, to nothing. The work we did have for the rest of December was canceled on Friday. It was only a few days, but would have brought in something. We have 8 days work in December, we need 20 to just pay the bills.

I am trying to keep calm and positive. We will spend the day trying to drum things up, but we can't have what isn't there.

Now this little drama........ I wasnt expecting !!

Hope you are all well :D x x

I will now proceed to try and do a "drum up the work" so you get your 20.

Assume your OH is at home..maybe its time for him to man the phones too? Try EBay?

Do stay calm. You'll be fine honey. It'll work out.

    Lots of love

  • Am loving the dance Mrs B ! :rotfl: it took me a while to figure out the dodgy smilie with his fingers in the air , bit slow on the uptake today !

Mr PG is here, he's dancing now as well ! it's strange him being around, barely seen him since end October so he is getting in the way !! To be fair he needs a few days off anyway, it's just the fact there is nothing in the pipeline that's making us a bit jittery. This hasn't happened in a long time .

    All will be fine......I'm sure ! :D

  • So on with the day......

My list is huge, I would post it but am afraid it would send you all fast asleep, but I have crossed a few things.

Mr PG currently putting in loads of expenses to claw some money back. November was a good month, we can if we are careful and if nothing more comes in for December just about eek our way through. This doesnt account for the Christmas BlowOut though which obviously includes Keeping Up Those Appearances ! If January does the same and is crazily quiet then we are in big trouble, but I wont think about that yet.

We turned down work for Xmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and New YEars Eve this year, now I am beginning to think maybe that was a mistake but hindsight is a wonderful thing. We wanted to spend some quality family time for once, thats got to be more important than paying these debts surely ?! :o

We have been lucky, many others in the same industry have been begging us for work, many have had to sell up, there are many tales of woe. We have been lucky. We have had a very very good year.

If this blasted debt wasnt hanging over us things would be easier.

We have a few options if things dont improve, I will keep those in mind but for now will think positive and hope we dont need to go down those routes , after all the work was only cancelled Friday. Mr PG worked until midnight last Friday but its such a rarity for him to be home , after a couple of days we get the jitters. Its a shame, it would be nice to just enjoy him having a few days off, but instead we are worrying just a tad.

I will though put him to good use if nothing comes up.

The kitchen we started painting in January and havent had time to finish, I have put that on Mr PG's list. The downstairs loo was painted in May, but that wasnt finished either, also on his list. The bathroom flooded in April time, this needs to be useable by Christmas day which includes a new bath panel , toilet seat and flooring. I have flooring in the garage, it wouldnt be my choice, but it is free and good enough to get the bathroom useable. In an ideal world the whole bathroom suite would be ripped out and redone from scratch but that wont be happening so we will make do and mend ! :D The Christmas lights and reindeers need to go outside the front of the house. The tree and house are decorated :xmastree:

Those are my musings for the day.........on with my list xxx

  •:eek::eek: OMG I nearly killed my family tonight with my culinary offerings.....again ! Actually it was poor DD2 that came off the worst.

I decided in the name of being frugal that I would use up yesterdays left over chicken and make a "wait and see pie' . Im actually a pretty good pie maker, they dont look pretty I msut admit, but they taste good...usually. The plan was a chicken, bacon and chestnut pie. Sadly the cupboards were bare, so it became a chicken and leek pie. Unfortunately there wasnt actually much chicken left, so I decided to whack in a few spuds. So it became Chicken, Leek and Potato Pie. I thought it sounded pretty tasty. DD1 then informed she had to be back in school this evening at 6pm as she was singing a song in Latin :rotfl: in Church so I decided there was no time to attempt to make pastry. On rummaging in the freezer all I could find was filo pastry. I threw it all together, went to brush an egg on the top, realised I had no eggs, so brushed it with milk, popped it in the oven then set about finding something to go with it. Brocolli, cauliflower and egg fried rice ( dont ask !! :rotfl:)

Everyone was commenting on how lovely it smelt, even though it was a made up pie, I threw in some creme fraiche and little vino as well to the sauce and although it looked a rather messy pie it smelled yummy !

We were tucking into it when DD2 started choking ! Out of her mouth she pulled out something long and spiky. I quickly took it away from her, hid it in a napkin and told her it was crunchy piece of filo pastry whilst racking my brains as to what on earth it was and if I should complain to Asd@ of something spiky in the pastry. Mr PG , sat quietly before anouncing that he thought it looked rather like the end of the Pastry Brush ! Of course not I thought, I would have seen that go in the pie wouldnt I ?!! Clearly not. When we inspected the brush in the sink it had cracked and great chunks of bristles were missing, clearly destined for inside my beautiful pie !!

Thankfully they are all still speaking to me, but I think this is my biggest disaster to date and another one I will never live down !! :o
