  • I dont use Hotmail anymore because I have been beta testing Windows Live Mail from the start. So Windows Live Mail does not have this popup.

To be honest I rarely if ever use Hotmail myself too - it's just that when I got my MSN/windows live messenger account the email comes with it by default.

I hadn't tried Windows Live Mail :p so just signed up to it with my hotmail - thanks for the tip! :money:
  • You get 2GB with Windows Live Mail.

That's a different message in the second example, isn't it just the popup blocker in IE stopping popups from appearing, letting you know it's blocked it and asking if you want to run the popup?

If you right click on it does it give you an option to not show that message again?
I know what you mean and it certainly isn't the popup blocker message.
I have allowed the Windows Live Messenger browser extension add on, it's nothing to worry about as the Hotmail website is Microsoft owned so can be trusted not to be spyware etc.

You can allow it to install, and then enable/disable it as you choose from Tools/Manage add ons.

I don't use yahoo mail (just messenger) so can't really comment on that one but would imagine that's safe too...there would be big noises on these boards if these 2 particular active x add ons were causing anything to worry about.

I've allowed to install as you suggested and haven't had the problem since but I'd need to check if it reappears in my next login. Sorry to be such a bother - could you please tell me how I could manage add ons?
