What help can she get?

Her mother is a bit unbalanced - This Girl has been kicked out for buying the wrong smelling bottle of Flash cleaning product!!!!! I'm not joking.
The BF's father sent a text!!!, which I read. The beef was aimed at the BF, and other male members for not pulling their weight and sitting around being depressed. The beef with the Girl was that he was feeding her but got no cash in return. I tried to negotiate with him and he was alreday bagging up everybodies clothes.
With most of her friends parents it boils down to money, they all say she pitches in with housekeeping, but they cant afford another mouth to feed.
Besides that, if it was just about a bottle of flash then you need to get her to go home and not be trying to be their guardian.0 -
Shelter will advise them of their actual housing rights which may be a quite different from how the council were supposed to treat them. A local council has a statutory obligation to help or advise the homeless and some have very poor reputations for dealing with the public. The Shelter website has good information about the homelessness application process, plus they have telephone advisors and some drop-in offices.
You can help them model their benefit entitlements on the Turn2us online benefit calculator but it isn't very good at dealing with cases where someone is in full time education. Full time students without disabilities and dependents don't tend to be eligible for housing benefit but I do believe that youngsters who have family relationship breakdowns may be eligible for certain benefits that their other peers cannot access.
Many colleges have support advisors who can help with benefit queries and offer emotional support. Many colleges also have hardship funds.
You can identify the LHA entitlement (housing benefit) for them on the Direct Gov website.
Some local councils offer deposit guarantee schemes for those in housing need/low incomes.0 -

I was kicked out of home for wanting a light-bulb in my bedroom when I was 16. It was just an excuse my step dad wanted me out and that was that.
OP what part of the country are you in, there are various local schemes and charities that help out youngsters in similar situations as this girl.0 -
you would be surprised how bloody nasty some people can be, sometimes they will look for any excuse.

Thank you for your support on this one. Having picked this girl up at all hours after her mother kicked her out I know she is not pulling a fast one. Its been going on since she was 12. A Kicking Out happened about once every two months. At one point she had a small bag prepacked in the garden shed, so if she got kicked out she'd have some spare clothes to take with her.
We tried to talk to the mother a few years back about it and all of her Christmas presents were sold for 'telling tales out of school'. I have taken the advice of Big Aunty and there is a service right in the next estate and I'm going to call them now. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Are they trying to claim help with the rent or are they expecting to be housed by the council?
Either, or. - Personally I would prefer her to be in a private house with HB. But just a place that she can unpack fully is what she absolutely needs right now. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
