Hi folks, Is there anyone in the know regarding the giff gaff sim card. My son is looking for a new phone, 02 blackberry and I wondered if you had to unlock this phone prior to inserting the giff gaff sim, also am I right in thinking if you pay the £25 goody bag with the giff gaff sim does it really give you unlimited texts, free web data and 1500 mins a month if you pay £10 monthly? Any info would be greatly appreciated. X

They're part of O2, so if you have an O2-locked phone it'll work, however, if not you will need to unlock it.
The goody bags are as they seem: not sure if you're getting a bit mixed up with the £25 and the £10 one though? 1500 mins is the £25/month goody bag.0 -
Just to let you know as you are thinking of getting s Blackberry. These phones will be fully supported by giffgaff from 24th of this month.0

Yes, you really really do get unlimited texts and web with the goody bags. I'm a a bit confused where you say £25 goodybag then £10 month? The £25 gb gives you 1500 mins, the £10 gives you 200 mins. But that's all you pay, just the goodybags, plus the BB bolt on if you want full BB service, which is due to start on 24th November, I imagine it will be the standard £5.
It's saved me an absolute fortune for one son who switched from Virgin 4 months ago, the other one is going to switch from Orange as soon as the BB service is operational, happy days!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
The £10 goodybag gives you 250 mins and unlimited texts and internet. You also get free calls to giffgaff numbers for 3 months because you have topped the phone up.
The plus side is you also get free video calls to giffgaff numbers and people are correct that Blackberry services should be starting on 24th November
I've used giffgaff for over a year and now top my phone up with £15 a month compaired to £45 on my previous network0 -
I switched over to giffgaff about 5 months ago, i've only just put another £10 credit on where as if i was with my other network i would have topped up by more by now. Txts are cheaper, also free if you call another giffgaff user ( my mum is now with them so we can call each other for free).0

Just asking for a bit of advice re giff gaff goody bags. Am about to end my Iphone contract and am thinking of using Giff gaff goody bag sims. Could somone just clarify for me exactly how they work, do you just buy a new one every month or do they automatically renew? do you pay by card to top up if you run out part month or can you use more than one goody bag a month? Do they work on a similar basis to u-fix T- Mobile plan? Are 0845 etc numbers included at all?Jan Grocery challenge

The goodybags last one month, but you can't use more than one goody bag a month so it's best to start with the one you think you will need.
You can pay for them at any time during the month but they will not activate until the current one expires. So for example, my sons GB expires on 3rd of month, when I get paid on the 25th I purchase another GB but it sits there until the one he's using expires so he doesn't lose out on any days.
I believe you can set it up to top up automatically, but I just go online and do it, unlike the o2 online top up Giff Gaff stores your payment details so it takes seconds to do.
If you use your minutes before your goody bag expires you can top up normally and can always have a combination of goodybag and credit available, you don't have to choose on or t'other.
I've never used T-Mobile so can't answer that, also I'm not sure about 0845 numbers, my son has never tried I don't think.
