    To correct the misconception, the askjeff website actually has some very useful information on damp, its over-diagnosis by surveys, as well as woodworm etc. Others may disagree, but I do NOT consider it a "crappy website."

    However in THIS scenario, it is clearly not applicable.

    Blame the poster, not the website referred to!
