"Choose a single Christmas card for your Wife, Husband, Mum, Dad, Boyfriend, Girlfriend or absolutely anyone with a free single Christmas Card from WHSmith." I chose one at random with 'Mum' on it and it worked fine.0 -
How do you know which codes are unique and which ones are generic?0

You've gotta love these WH Smith freebies at the minute. The friendly young lad at my local branch advised me it was ANY wrapping paper and ANY christmas card, so I picked up my choice of each for free!0

Same here, no restrictions at WHSmith High Street Birmingham.
I even asked twice and both staff members said I can pick whatever card and wrapping paper I want.0 -
I think with WH Smith it depends on the manager. Presumably, some are none too keen on these freebies and tell customers they can just have the cheapest in the range of whatever is being offered free. Cheeky, but you can't really argue with them. As for saying the code doesn't work, that's rubbish! I was told (and as I and others have proved) the code works on any items matching the description, so it seems some WH Smiths are a law unto themselves.
On a side note, does anyone know how o2 reimburse stores for these freebies?0 -
I was told to pick any card, which I did, it scanned at £5.99
Code still workedPobody's-Nerfect0 -
I got a £4.29 card for free today :j Apparently the next WHSmith freebie will be batteries! You bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like her

feeling abit underwhelmed by the freebies advents this year. Im sure last years was so much better (free chocs, pizza etc)
still a freebie is a freebie, so far this month I got the xmas cards, caf! Nero hot drink and the £5 Body shop free spend. I might go and get the car and roll of paper tomorrow, I have completed my shopping and wrapping now so any more wrapping paper will just take up room. I will see how I feel tomorrow!:money::rotfl::T0 -
No problem using the £5 code in Bodyshop's Darlington branch. I did ask if I could use it on the half price hand cream but the girl said no (very nicely!) so I went for the smaller version.
Then I steeled myself to go to WHSmiths... Thought I'd check which wrapping paper was in the offer and heard a woman at the till being told it was "any from this box" has some quite nice ones in, mainly single rolls at £3 each.
Then I had to go outside to get a hotspot to work to get a code as they won't accept that my app isn't a screen shot. I checked with a woman on the tills and was told the icon needed to flash. The website said I had 15 minutes to use it so rushed back in, grabbed a roll I liked and ran slap into a massive queue at the tills!
Thankfully I got to the front before my time was up, the same woman I'd previously talked to then asked me to read the code out and didn't even look at my phone! :wall:
At least I now know the routine I have to go through to get 02 freebies from WHSmiths...0 -
I got the wrapping paper and card today both at the same time.
Even though it says the offer is only valid for 15 minutes, the code stays there. My bodyshop code from last week still shows. (Almost tempted to get another £5 but the girl that had served me was on the till again!).I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
