That's a rather naive statement and assumes that everyone working for the NHS in general, and the person who is competent and capable of compiling this information specifically has spare capacity and will not be diverted from some other more important task.
Contrary to poular belief most NHS employees work more than their contracted hours without any overtime or other recognition. This additional burden just increases the stress and sickness levels menaing more work for colleagues left and/or potential additional expense in paying agency staff to cover.
As has been referred to earlier, NHS Trusts are required to be accountable to the public and to supply staff to deal with FOI requests (within the constraints of time and expense provided for in the Act). Attempting to argue that submitting FOI applications such as those discussed does nothing but waste public money is akin to arguing that buying food in supermarkets makes extra work for the hard pressed check-out staff.
Putting it in rather more simple terms, that is exactly what the staff are there to do.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
I have had a response to my FOI regarding the car parking regulations used by Aintree. On a claim form issued by Trethowans in the POC it simply says.
"Breach of car parking regulations" so I asked Aintree for a copy of the regulations Trethowans are relying on to issue the claim!
This is the answer they have given!
Answer: The parking regulations referred to are defined and imposed by the
Trust to promote the management of traffic and control of parking on its
site. They are set out on signage as you enter the site and at various
locations adjacent to parking areas.
I have asked them to clarify, saying the signs convey the regulations, but what are they and who wrote them!
I can just see Trethowns walking into a court with a sign under their arm, if that's the only form the regulations are in.
I have seen the sign as you enter Aintree its set back about 6 metres from the road and 3 metres up a lamp post!0 -
Aintree have ducked out of the question of how much is recovered from the £53k spent with Trethowans, stating it would cost more than £450.
Esmorobbo - can you message me the response you got to your original FOI? I want to FOI how much it cost for them to retrieve this information so I can throw their excuses back in their face.Well if you want to talk wasting NHS money I have a response to my revised question.
Here we go!!!!!!!!
Amount of money paid by Aintree NHS trust to Trethowans solicitors to
pursue unpaid car parking charges over the last two years!
2010-11 £53,093.65
2011-12 £63,479.83 to date0 -
